The end of the Romney Campaign
World Net Daily ^ | January 29 | Janet Folger

Posted on 01/29/2008 6:40:55 AM PST by no dems

Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org, as in Roe v. Wade – GONE. Nice, huh? What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon. No kidding. I predict this thing will signal the end of the Romney campaign.

Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do. I was there at the debate last week when Romney responded to the flip-flop accusations with the words: "I can point to a very simple way to find out exactly where I stand, and that is look at my record as governor."

Let's do that, shall we?

As governor, Mitt Romney issued an executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual weddings, or resign. Then he ordered marriage licenses changed to read "party A" and "party B" – instead of "husband" and "wife."

As governor, Romney appointed a board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association to the bench, and appointed more Democrat judges than Republicans.

As governor, Romney authored and signed a mandatory heath insurance plan backed by Ted Kennedy – including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.

As governor, Romney overruled his own health department and forced Catholic hospitals to distribute the morning after abortion pill.

Homosexual marriage?

Tax-funded abortions?

Catholic hospital morning after pills?

Homosexual activist judges?

"Look at my record as governor."

I’d take Romney over McCain, no contest. Thanks for playing.

I've never heard Romney saying that Samuel Alito "wore his conservatism on his sleeve". McCain is unacceptable as a GOP nominee.

The Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS), run by the Romney administration, honored a homosexual "married" couple (two men) as their adoptive "Parents of the Year" for 2006. The DSS has gained a reputation for being aggressively pro-homosexual over recent years. This incident sparked outrage across the country, but to our knowledge no policies or personnel at DSS were changed as a result. - Waltham Daily News Tribune, 8/4/2006

And then, of course, from this electon:

"“There are other ways to raise kids that’s fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids. That’s the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice,” he said. [”N.H. woman challenges Romney on gay marriage” - AP]

I wanna do over...

A do over? Heck cripplecreek, we haven't even had a "do" yet. The enemedia and the elitists have chosen who we can choose from and everyone is marching to the slaughter like the good little sheeple they are.

Approximately 1.6 million people have voted thus far in only 6 states and it appears we have the nominees from both parties.

So far we have:
IA, WY (no popular vote), NV = closed caucus
MI, SC = open primary
NH = modified primary
Today:
FL = closed primary

Primaries are being held across the country through June 3rd and it has basically been over for 3 weeks. Astounding!

That sums them both up real well.
Romney has the drive and the will to put his boot up hillarys gargantuan rearend.

McCain will just move into it and call it a studio apartment with a new car smell.

Take Romney out of liberal Massachusetts, and he will be more conservative than Bush by a country mile.

Nice try but a specious assertion... Other than raw hope and wishful gazing into a crystal ball, what possible empirical evidence could such a claim be based upon? Such a boast also unintentionally damns Romney as a phony pol, a shape shifter guided by the prevailing political needs of the moment and not his inner convictions. The most effective barometer of what a politician will do in the future is what a politician has done in the past. Hard to see how to reconcile Romney's shape shifting past with your claims of how he'll govern in the future.

Take McCain out of conservative Arizona ...

Arizona can no longer accurately be described as being conservative. Sadly, the demographics here have shifted dramatically in the last 25 years. McCain isn't fooling a conservative electorate in Arizona so much as he's in sync with them. The political trends are heading to the Left at worst, moderate-to-Liberal Republicanism at best. Goldwater is little more than a name you see on a lot of buildings and roads.

I trust McCain... (plus, I know he won’t stab our troops in the back)

May I suggest you contact the families of a couple hundred POW/MIA from Vietnam, before putting too much trust in him?

I opened this thread mildly worried about the headline, and then I saw that it was a WorldNetDaily article.

“Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”- Mitt Romney's statement on the day he signed permanent "assault" weapons ban.

I just want to be sure you're fully aware of what you're managing to justify to yourself.

The nomination of Mitt Romney will mean that politicians now have a license to lie with impunity, and that their records mean nothing to those who are deluding themselves.

Whatever you do, Jeff, don't ever say that you weren't warned.

Have you noticed that the media dropped the “tier” measurement of candidates? That seemed to happen about the time Rootie fell to dead last in actual votes. I guess the media figured it would be too hard to explain how top tier candidates were trailing bottom tier candidates.

There’s gonna be a political bloodbath come November and I think the GOP is going to do the bleeding. Have no fear, the party faithfull will again find themselves above blame.

Full quote: I trust McCain... well, to be entertaining ...

IE, the context was the only thing I trust him on was to be entertaining..

(plus, I know he won’t stab our troops in the back)..
I doubt he would defund troops in the middle of a battle zone.. I can't say that about some other candidates...

The many asinine comments I see here in support of the ultra liberal Romney (a man whose business experience, where he made his fortune to support himself in this campaign by taking jobs from American workers), are extremely painful for this conservative to witness.

Is conservatism dead? Are conservatives admitting defeat?
Are there any conservtives left? (pun intended)

"I know he won't stab our troops in the back."

Oh, yes he will, if he gets his Amnesty, keep the borders open bill, which he recently reiterated he still believes in, in spite of a flipflop on closing the borders.

He will stab them in the back if he closes Gitmo and acts like those terrorist combatants just jaywalked and need to be put in our legal system.

Thirdly, he will stab them in the back by collaborating with his wonderful friends "across the aisle" and helping to pass their dearest wishes.

Please, could you people planning to vote for McCain just have a look at how he has already screwed conservatives, let alone the Repub. party.

Romney's record as gov. of MA is not that surprising, working with the lib/Dem legislature he had. I can't see his making tose lib issues his priorities as president. Even if Dems keep the congress, God forbid, they have a fairly strong opposition in the Repub. party, which MA doesn't have.

Not to mention the families of soldiers and civilians who are exposed to the brunt of our illegal invasion from the south and parts unknown. Or we could look to his opinions on chinese trade and the fact that they supply many of the weapons that are killing the soldiers he claims to care about.

hear you loud and clear. America by and large is about to get a good hard dose of socialism.

I'm paying off all my debt now, saving up whatever I can; 'cause on the horizon, I see the Gov't coming to take more from me so it can hand out as the nanny state sees fit.

Not planning to vote for him, he is second to last on my list before Paul. The context was the ONLY thing I trusted him with was to be entertaining, but I doubt he would defund our troops in the middle of a war.. but you never know..
