Current Media, which operates a television network and a Web site that distribute content for young adults, filed with U.S. regulators to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering of class A common stock.
The San Francisco-based company told the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission in a preliminary prospectus that J.P. Morgan Securities Inc, Lehman Brothers Inc and Pacific Crest Securities Inc were underwriting the IPO.
The filing did not reveal how many shares the company planned to sell or their expected price. The company intends to list its common stock on the Nasdaq under the symbol "CRTM," and plans to use the proceeds in part to repay debt. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore)
Go short.
Current Media has really been a cultural phenomena. Everywhere I go, people are constantly talking about the latest exciting stuff happening on Al Gore TV. And its popularity has impacted such diverse areas as music, movies, sports marketing and art. It’s a dynamic world-changing media company opening up new spheres of possibilities never before imagined from a media company.
I expect every share comes with a warrant for carbon credits. Especially good when Al Gore’s “Air America” TV crashes and burns.
ROFLMAO
Of course they will get about $1 billion of free publicity from the MSM. Air America got more free promotion by the media than all the revenue it ever generated.
Let’s all buy shares!
Imagine if we got control and could elect Rush Limbaugh president of the company!
Al would for SURE ask for a recount on that one!
Hahahahaha!
Yeah, I just left the barbershop and that’s all they could talk about—Current Media. One old man who has been bald since his thirties grew a full head of hair after watching Current Media for just a few weeks. Another guy said his prostate cancer had gone into remission because of Current Media.
