The end of the Romney campaign (New ad exposing Massachusetts record)
World Net Daily ^ | January 29, 2008 | Janet L. Folger

Posted on 01/28/2008 11:34:14 PM PST by Kurt Evans

Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org ... What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon...

Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do... [Link to ad in post #2.]

Meanwhile, the word is getting out that Gov. Mike Huckabee is the only candidate who supports both a Human Life Amendment and a Marriage Protection Amendment.

* Unlike Mitt Romney whose health-care plan includes abortion on demand.

* And John McCain who thinks taxpayers should fund medical experiments on human embryos.

* And Rudy Giuliani who supports every single abortion for all nine months, just like Hillary Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama and John Edwards.

Huckabee stands for marriage while McCain and Giuliani (and Clinton, Obama and Edwards) oppose the Marriage Protection Amendment, and Romney opposed a Marriage Amendment to his state constitution...

Yesterday, National Right to Life Political Action Committee issued the following statement:

"National Right to Life is grateful for the strong pro-life record established by Mike Huckabee as governor of Arkansas, and recognizes that Governor Huckabee has taken the strongest pro-life position on all of the life issues of any of the remaining candidates for president"...

And Rep. Duncan Hunter's endorsement of Huckabee is helping to bring the defense and border conservatives on board:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter... "Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity." ...

Ted K never disappoints, though. He's ALWAYS fat, drunk, stupid, loud, boorish and a murderer. Other than that, he's awesome!

LOL, thanks a lot, just when my stomach was starting to not be so sore from laughing!

That’s why we really need a national educational ad campaign instead of waiting for the court decision from lala land (which will only end up increasing illegal abortions anyway)

It’s funny that the “liberals” are so unliberal when it comes to this race. I thought the Fred crowd was the most intolerant but they don’t compare in venom to these two camps.

we debate issues and philosophy.

The liberals are upset when Obama shakes this hand and not the other.

Sorry I called you that, not that I agree with you. Just getting tired of Evangelicals being put down and heard that word being used by the Romneycamp when their faith is being mocked and figured what the hey. Sorry.

... unless God or somebody comes down from the sky with some sort of plan to throw the thing to Gingrich.

Yes, at this point it would take divine intervention, I am afraid. Yet, only a couple of months ago, all it would take was a commitment of $30M and/or Fred not getting into the race.

How can anyone vote for a guy that fries squirrels in a popcorn popper?

You make a lot of sense, jerry. You must agree, though, that conservatives want to back a candidate who at least represents SOME of their values. Also, we all want someone who can powerfully take on a Democratic nominee.

Huckabee may satisfy the conservatives, but I doubt he can match the Clinton machine or Obama's obvious ambition and gift of public speaking.

“Are you talking about that Huckabee who released 1100 convicted criminals out of prison and dumped them on the rest of us?”

Most of those he pardoned weren’t in prison.

“I understand some of them murdered a few more innocent vitims.”

I hadn’t heard that. Do you have a source?

“Are you talking about the same Huckabee who paid college tution for illegal aliens out of tax payer’s money?”

That proposal never became law.

“Is this the same Huckabee who hiked taxes in Arkansas by Half a Trillion NET INCREASE?”

Arkansas state government grew at a rate roughly half the national average under Governor Huckabee and had a surplus of about $800 million when he left office.

“Is the same Huckabee who opined that Bush has a bunker mentality?”

He was referring to the administration, not to Bush personally.

I'm not putting down Evangelicals. What I am putting down is the very obvious tactic of voting for one's "own" which is destroying this country.

If I were discussing conservative blacks voting for Obama I'd be saying the same thing.

I must say that it's amazing how here on FR we're constantly berating the victim poses others take, yet when Romney or Huckabee's religion are brought up--and THEY made them issues--it's "bigot" this and "bigot" that. It's like people are just waiting for an excuse to play the victim, when in fact I stand by my position and find it a hard one to argue against. If people think that criticizing Evangelicals for voting for someone because he's an Evangelical is bigoted, I can't help that, but I won't apologize for the observation.

Doesn’t Mitt Romney have a thorough explanation of these things? (And not “the courts made me do it,” where that is not true.) We need to see it.

- Executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual “marriages?”

- “Party A,” do you agree to marry “Party B?”

- Appointed a “Homosexual Bar” member and other extreme leftists to the bench; more Democrats than Republicans?

- Signed taxpayer funded abortion on demand as a part of Massachusetts’ statist healthcare package?

- Forced even Catholic hospitals to distribute the “morning after” abortion/hemorrhage pill?

“McCain would have no chance whatsoever in any sort of a debate or anything like that at all with Barack Obama.”

It may be beside the point, but I’m not sure Governor Romney would either.

And that’s why McCain is getting votes, people think he’s the only one who stands a chance against the Dems. The problem though is he doesn’t stand a chance. If he’s the nominee, the GOP loses bigtime. But the media is building McCain up only so they can tear him down later.

It’s a trap. And it’s a shame so many Republicans are falling for it.
