If the gun was found three feet away, this was a suicide, not murder or islamic terrorists.

For some reason, he was being sent home, and his family didn’t have him on their vacation.

Something very dysfunctional was going on.

Most murders don’t occur with someone breaking into your bathroom shortly before you have to leave for the airport. You can shoot yourself in the neck, but it’s hard to get that gun more than three feet away before you die.

According to immediate reports the US official died of bullet “wounds” to his head.

However in the mean time other officials of the US embassy reached the hospital and directed the doctors and PIMS administration not to relay details of the post-mortem to media or any other personnel.

More reports: A medical officer, who has examined the wound of the dead US diplomat at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has said the injury was an entry wound almost at the back of the head. The officer, who desired not to be named, was skeptical when asked whether the victim could have shot himself to death.

It was also reported that a suicide note was also recovered from near his body. However, there was no independent confirmation of such a recovery.

It is strange to note that a sizeable number of security officials are deployed at houses of IGP and Chief Commissioner exactly opposite to the place of occurrence but no one heard the gunshot.

There’s no reason for a person to shoot him/herself in the back of the neck except in an attempt to make the death appear to be a murder.US diplomats worldwide,particularly those in I Slamic countries should be better protected.

Generally speaking, all suicides (at least in the USA) are investigated and/or considered as homicides until determined it’s a suicide (or something else).

Some cases are easier to make a suicide determination than others.
