In the unlikely even that McCain got the nomination it would sound the death knell for the GOP. Nobody I know would vote for him.

Oh, I’d still vote for him in the general (if it comes to that, God forbid) due to concerns about HillObama-appointed judges, but you’re certainly right to imply that ENOUGH people on the right would “sit home” that McCain’s nomination would be much more likely to result in a Dem win. Can’t really blame them, even if I can’t go quite that far.

McCain is right now a 2 to 3 betting favorite to become the GOP nominee.

Is there time and money and a willing candidate to put a new conservative party on the ballot this year?
