Thompson, on the other hand, would be a guy who got more handsome the better you got to know him. What a great, interesting mind. I am severely disappointed, though. I'm just wondering what the hell got into him. I believe he would have won had he stayed in the race. I am shaking my head in complete disgust at this whole train wreck.

Me too! It's not like he was on the bottom tier running a consistent 1%-7%. He was in a decent position. What happened? I never figured Fred for a quitter, quite the opposite in fact. Maybe he saw a side of politics he didn't know about and didn't like and didn't want any part of it. Who knows?

And I am saying I agree with you, I have issues with Mitt also. I am just parroting the Mitt folks who are trying to tell us that if we don’t vote for their guy we are voting for Mcain or whomever...

Thank goodness I misunderstood you!!!!!!!! I have been admiring your posts and couldn’t believe we were so far apart on Mitt. I can only wait and see if the final candidate in this race picks a true conservatie as a running mate and then decide if I can support him. DOUBTFUL!!!!!

Why’d he give up before a State that ONLY allowed REPUBLICANS to vote in the REPUBLICAN primary voted? I feel cheated.

I think if he had stayed in he would have helped the more liberal candidates ... not that Romney id conservative ... but he would have made the race easier for McEgo

And then there was his Mother

.

I’m sad to say it but the standard bearer for conservatism a.k.a. GOP Presidential Nominee has been chosen by Chris Matthews, Fred Barnes, Juan Williams, Charles Krauthammer and Cokie Roberts.

You and I, well we’ve been allowed to participate in this “election” by financially producing some of the “candidates’” commercials and print adds. This election was bought and sold, signed sealed and delivered 6 years ago.

We are now allowed to choose either Francisco d’Anconia, James Taggert, or Oren Boyle to run our country.

Politically, I feel like a kid who has to choose between broccoli, lima beans and brussel sprouts before I get to eat desert, which turns out to be a frozen sorbet made from broccoli, brussel sprout and lima bean puree’!

At least we aren’t deciding our elections with guns yet! I just hope by that time the “conservatives in government” haven’t outlawed mine.

"I feel cheated."

As do I. If he wasn't even going to fight a little bit, why did he bother getting everyone all stirred up. I watched an episode of Law and Order last evening that he was in - made me mad to look at him.

I will vote for Mitt under two conditions in a primary as it stands right, one involving the devils homeland and the other being the effects of wintry weather.

I may, and I mean may, vote for him in the General if it is all we have, and even then I may have to change the oil in my car or get a voluntary root canal instead.

I am sitting out the primary in Mississippi unless Fred stays on the ballot, and I'll pull the lever for him. I will not participate in the GOP going completely stupid. I have already helped it go to simply dumb.

No if Fred join Mitt and CONVINCES me that he thinks Mitt is a go, I could be swayed, but it would be a feat.

Same here. I'd take some mighty convincing for me to vote for Romney (McCain, Huck et al).

I agree.

It seems that many conservatives like to spout off about what they want in a candidate, but when it came down to it, they voted for the opposite of what they have been demanding and followed the crowd like lemmings. Even our so-called conservative pundits fell for the MSM drivel.

I am disgusted with the lot of them.

(But Mitt does have nice hair.)
