Serious Question: Can anyone of faith attend his funeral in the temple?
AFAIK, funerals are not an LDS temple ordinance. Most LDS services take place in local meetinghouses that are open to all, with only certain rites performed in the temples, such as proxy baptism for the dead and family sealings. I would imagine Hinckley's memorial service will be a public service.
It won’t be in a temple, it will probably be in one of two large conference centers designed to hold thousands.
Yes, you can attend.
The funeral won’t be in the temple, it will likely be at the Conference Center. Where ever it is it will not be for memebers only. I think it would hard to get a seat in the actual location, but it will be transmitted via satellite to all the LDS chapels in North America if not around the world. You will be most welcome any any of those.
His funeral won’t be held in the temple (funerals aren’t part of the temple functions.) I’m not sure if it will be held in the Tabernacle or the Conference Center. The Tabernacle seats about 4,000 people, the Conference Center seats about 21,000 people. Anyone is welcome to attend his funeral (if you can get in.) I’m sure the line will be tremendously long. And there will be many civic, national, and religious leaders who attend. They will broadcast it on TV here in Utah. Thanks for asking. :)
