Kennedy clan backs Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton

The Kennedy clan is to throw its weight behind Barack Obama's bid for the presidency following his victory in the South Carolina primary.
The endorsements by John F Kennedy's daughter Caroline and brother Senator Ted Kennedy were a blow to Hillary Clinton, who suffered a 28-point humiliation in the Southern state.
Caroline Kennedy has made public her support for Barack Obama
Mrs Clinton had sought to get the Democratic establishment behind her bid to become America's first female president.
But Caroline Kennedy, previously a supporter of Mrs Clinton, made public her support for Mr Obama in a New York Times article entitled "A President Like My Father".
"I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them," she wrote. "But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president - not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans."
Sen Kennedy, who had been courted by Mrs Clinton, has privately made known his dismay at the Clinton campaign's negative tactics.
He is expected to announce his endorsement when Mr Obama appears in Washington today.
advertisementMrs Clinton, expecting a bad result, had left South Carolina before Saturday's polls closed. But the size of Mr Obama's win was a surprise.
It means that the pair go into the final stretch before next week's "Super Duper Tuesday", when 22 states vote, with two states each under their belts.
Campaigning in Macon, Georgia, Mr Obama said his victory showed that Americans were rejecting the politics of the 1990s, when Mrs Clinton's husband Bill was president.
"I do think that there is a certain brand of politics that we've become accustomed to... where we basically think anything is fair game," he said.
"There is no doubt that I think that in the '90s, we got caught up in a slash-and-burn politics that the American people are weary of."
I wonder what the conversation is like between Bill and Hill...about this...ARGH
Bill did call Teddy and request his endorsement.
Nope..k bye...
Because they use the same meaningless platitudes. The only reason JFK is some sort of American icon-hero is because he was killed, and became a martyr for the left. Barry O is just a darkened male Jackie O. Same BS, different decade, that's all.
Whoop di do. I am so happy for them.
That pic is really creepy.
Ah, the Massachusetts Kennedys and the Chicago Daleys team up again for another Presidential Election!
The father of the current Mayor Daley delivered the deciding votes to JFK in 1960. Obama’s from Illinois, and supports the current Mayor.
Mayor Daley and his brother (a former Clintonista) support Obama. The Kennedys are announcing for Obama. The Kennedy-Daley machine is in high gear to deliver this election to Obama.
Caption: Mr. Kennedy is it true that being president is a great way to meet girls?
You wonder how much the Democrat insiders know about the Clintons that is not generally known.
dotto!
she be goog lookg so she be tv.
si.
That was sooooooooo insulting - could be one reason Caroline Kennedy is backing Obama.
this collision maybe studied in future physics classes.
Decent looking, at least.
How did this one manage to elude Bill Clinton's paws?
It is interesting that almost the entire democratic establishment is going out of its way to endorse Obama.
Would love to know the story on why all of them are willing to go against Clinton in the primary, meaning none of them want the clintons back in power.
Wonder how much arm twisting the Clintons have been doing these past fifteen years?
Post 15 is spot on. Two VIKs, Very Important Kennedys endorsed Obama today. They must be somewhat certain she is not going to get the nomination or if she does she won’t be elected president. I must say I am very curious about this one.
This is coming from the old line dems. I take it Caroline Kennedy’s FBI file is not among the 900.
Somebody somewhere knows something about Bill and/or Hill that’s going to breat the surface soon, especially if she’s nominated......
I don’t care what she says so long as she lets Hilary know she is not the famous woman of the USA. The Clintons think they are so beloved that they can have their way anyway. I can’t stand the sight of either one and now I find that a lot of you agree with me. I wish I could buy Hillary for what she’s worth and sell for what she thinks shes worth.
Recall when she told Katie c. that she would be the next president. Lets just wait ans see.
They're wising up to the fact that Hillary is the most beatable candidate.
