You act as if there is a GOP in CA. What are the numbers there? 36 % registered? And what? They all reside in Northern California?

My point is Democrats don’t have VP’s that wind up as President...I am shocked we have so many Senator’s winning and leading races for President right now as it is. This country usually votes Governors for Prez.

I am not an Arnold fan at all by the way.

Thanks to Carl Rove appointing Gerry Parsky, it's almost non-existent. They screwed GOP nominee Bill Simon and waited until they could foist Arnold under false pretenses. Had the CAGOP supported Simon in 2002, he would likely be governor today under very different circumstances.

Take the hint.

California's leftward swing has happened only the past 20 years or so -- until relatively recently, it has been staunchly Republican and not so long ago, Presidential candidates considered it a "given" in the Republican, not the Democrat, column.

I don't know what the numbers are, but I believe they are better than that. I DO know for certain that it's really the opposite of what you imply with regard to where they reside -- it's the Liberal Democrats who reside in specific "artsy" and metropolitan regions that are 99 percent coastal. The "blue" in California is restricted to heavily populated but extremely small areas of the sate -- and even there, out of the 14 coastal counties in California (this is a large and overwhelmingly rural, agricultural state) four and five of those coastal counties still remained faithfully Republican Red along with the entire interior of the state with one or two exceptions, in the last two Republican presidential elections.
