As if we've learned NOTHING from the selection of Dick Cheney, Thompson would represent another VP choice both too old and too frail to serve for eight years as VP and then serve eight more years as President. Picking a VP candidate without sixteen years of future service in the offing is simply idiotic.

The Republican party is in trouble BIG time and if given the opportunity it will destroy conservatism completely.

When it comes to conviction, the Republican party is more concerned about winning rather than doing what is best for the country.

They can't win that game against liberals.

Democrat's have that game down pat and with savvy.

If they were concerned about winning they wouldn't have nominated Cheney. As much as I admire the man he was a very poor VP pick when it comes to grooming a successor.
