It’s no-win for Barack: Clintons marginalize him as black candidate
Boston Herald ^ | 1/26/08 | Michael Graham

Posted on 01/26/2008 4:32:28 AM PST by MartinaMisc

Well, the media finally got the negative, slash-and-burn, “dirty politics” South Carolina primary they’ve been looking for.

They just weren’t looking for it from the Democrats.

Remember how the national media flocked to South Carolina looking for campaign fliers accusing John McCain of having a drug-addicted illegitimate daughter with ties to al-Qaeda? Who knew she would turn out to be Michelle Obama?

The Clintons unloaded on Barack Obama down in South Carolina, running commercials so ridiculously untrue that even Bill Clinton couldn’t defend them. The Clintons were forced to pull their attack ads on Thursday.

But by then, it didn’t matter anymore. Obama had already lost.

I know, I know: Zogby has Obama up by 13 points, and SurveyUSA has him up by 16. How can the freshman senator from Illinois possibly lose?

He will lose by winning.

How?

Former Clintonista Dick Morris knows. He knows better than anyone alive how the HillBillys think, and he sees what I see. He’s figured out the brilliant if repulsive campaign strategy of the Clintons, and how they have turned South Carolina into their Venus Fly Trap. The Obama campaign will fly in, breathe deep the sweet smell of electoral success and then never escape.

In fact, it is possible Obama won’t win a single state after South Carolina. He could even lose his home state of Illinois.

“The Clintoons are playing political chess - and winning.”

And Obama is playing checkers.

I forgot about that... I would love to see Obama say that in a debate and have Hillary’s reaction on You Tube.

Another thing I would like to see is a continuation of Slick Willy blowing his temper in public.

If the Republicans nominate a black for VP he or she will just be marginalized as an Uncle Tom....a figurehead for the massar... See Colin Powell as Sec. of State....Condi Rice as Sec. of State... Lt. Gov. Steele;... JC Watts might be a good choice if he hadn’t been out of politics in so long...and from a state that should be a Rep win anyway.

Face it, we aren’t going to get a true conservative at the top, the best we can hope for is a conservative VP.

If Hillary or Obama win and get a senate and house majority again....it’s all over but the crying...as the Senate R’s won’t have the gonads to play hard ball like the Dems do when they are in the minority!

The Clintons are vicious and unprincipled ..........

And that is the reason they should be removed from the national stage, regardless the cost.

If Obama had a spine, he would loudly and publicly call the Clintons on this and the media, even the Clinton-loving media (which is 95% of the media), would be forced to cover his clarion call.

He doesn't even belong in this race. If he were a white guy with the same ridiculous past and non-existent qualifications--three years after being a state senator, he wouldn't have been taken seriously by anyone. He is a product of the race-obsessed MSM and Left.

Clarification is correct. Young folks are supporting Obama without looking at the consequences of bad fiscal policies. Thinking Obama is going to change the world drastically is a mistake, he would only retard their opportunity to do something themselves, and not rely on Government for charity to be done.

There is a defense for this strategy. It is called offense.

Call them liars. In public. On every talk show. Talk about scandal and how all of this is happening all over again. Does America want liars in the oval office? Does America want another 8 years of scandal after scandal after scandal.

That is the only way to beat the Clintons. When they start to cry, hit them harder and say in public, “look at them whine. America is about strength so do we want whiners in the white house?

Keep asking, keep talking. If anything, the black vote will love him.

By the way, anyone seen Howard Dean lately?

“I know, I know: Zogby has Obama up by 13 points”

Uh oh... He’s doomed. Zogby was off by 19 points in New Hampshire in Obama’s favor. If he’s off that much again, Clinton (or even Edwards, Zogby’s method is so bad) could win by 21!

“It’s cynicism at its lowest. It is utterly shameful. And yet every “Bush is Hitler!” liberal in America will quietly go along”.

I’m not familiar with Michael Graham. Is he a Lib?
If so, isn’t he perpetuating the shameful game of the Clintoons? Isn’t he “going along” simply by putting the strategy in print?

"Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton seem very quiet on this."

They are scared to death that the way the Clintons are treating Obama will alienate a large percentage of black voters. They'll continue to hold their breath during the inevitable back-lash that will come when Hillary doesn't pick Obama as her VP running mate.

After Mitt gets the nomination, he will be smart to wait until after Clinton picks her running mate (Evan Bayh-D IN) and then chooses a black conservative as his VP running mate - preferably someone who is recommended by Jeb Bush of Florida (the GOP needs Florida).

In a protest against the Clintons, and because of "identity politics", I think the black vote will go to Mitt if he makes that move. The gravy may be the protest votes of many independents and young people who are disgusted by the way their guy (Obama) is being treated.

That may be a good choice! I would want to see Jeb Bush make a big production of “recommending him” (or ?) to Romney, though.

It could never get better than that.
