Florida Sen. Mel Martinez to endorse McCain

Florida Sen. Mel Martinez will endorse John McCain on Friday, The Associated Press has learned, a move likely to give the Republican presidential candidate a crucial boost with the state's Cuban-Americans just days before the primary.

The decision is a blow to Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor in a close fight with McCain for support of voters in the Cuban-American community _ and to keep his candidacy alive.

Two Republican officials disclosed the upcoming endorsement on the condition of anonymity to avoid pre-empting the announcement.

As recently as Thursday night, Martinez indicated he would remain neutral in the race, though noted that he was close friends with McCain.

Yeah, McCain, the liberal media darling, is being handled w/kid gloves. What makes some any R so clueless about McCain?
Even the liberals know what he is!

because Gilchrist endorsed HUCKABEE. - not Romney.

The Minutemen promptly disavowed the endorsement and bashed Gilchrist for his illogical endorsement.

Jim Gilchrist likes Mike Huckabee, but the organization he founded sent a "special message" to members blasting Huckabee. The headline: "Real Minutemen Do Not Endorse Huckabee."

I wondered the same thing - who are the supposedly Republicans who vote for McCain? He has nothing to offer, only obsession with damaging this country through his insane amnesty/illegal aliens agenda. He has a great deal of baggage - adultery, opposition to tax cuts, CFR, Keating 5, a wife with a past, etc.

PBS was saying that Floridians will vote for McCain because they believe the global warming stuff. LOL and not!!!! Global warming is stopping hurricanes. I luv when PBS tells Amerika what Floridians believe.

If PBS is pushing McCain too, they know Hilary can beat him cuz he WILL lose his temper w/her and I will NEVER vote for the liberal Mexico first dude, McCain.

We all know that, but that is not what was stated.

Expansion of the argument into another area is irrelevant.

who are the supposedly Republicans who vote for McCain?,.................etc.

Exactly - Supposedly. And your 'etc' includes alot. There are some on this board saying this will vote for him. Seem strange that there is no 'truth file' on McCain on this site while there is one on Rudy info taken from the TNYT and other liberal rags - it's well known TNYT hates Rudy and loves McCain.

TNYT endorsed McCain and Hillary - yet, no truth file on McCain on FR. What does that tell us? the power of suggestion at play w/minds - like the media. Thankfully, there are some true republicans - not RINO - that have posted the truth on McCain - such as yourself.

You mean this McCain?

GOA On John McCain’s Record

Arizona Senator John McCain is running for President (again). He has been courting various conservative leaders in his quest to secure the Republican nomination. McCain wants voters to believe that he is a conservative… but his record would certainly suggest otherwise.Take, for instance, his record on gun rights and political speech affecting Second Amendment activists. Abysmal, wretched, and pathetic are words that come to mind.

GunOwners of America

Also, the best Senator in Congress, Dr. Tom Coburn, has endorsed McCain.

With all due respect, the best Senator in Congress is John Cornyn. I wish he were my Senator.

"Do these guys think that McCain would play hardball with Cuba?"

Only after he's done playing hardball with what are left of our rights. (You have the right to pay exorbitant taxes....)

That he does. And birds of a feather....McCain/Klinton - the media sweethearts. We couldn't understand why the libs couldn't see through the hill/bill team. Well, know it's our turn - we have our own McKlinton - and some can't see it either.
