Can’t he be selfless and considerate and still just plain not doable?

This guy Hal is obviously a puffer. What red-blooded male would stay married to a cow who wouldn’t sleep with him?

Or maybe the husband begins to go out with his friends in response to the wife’s sudden drop in desire.

Exactly,
Some minor traits may blossom, and sometimes serial killers can lurk beneath amiable facades, but usually the jackass never passed a stallion in the first place :)

If he’s not “doable” — she shouldn’t have married him. That he was “doable” was implied when he agreed she’d be his sole source of sexual gratification.

You can’t marry a dude, demand monogamy — and shut down. Agreeing to a single supplier carries the assumption that the supply will reasonably meet the demand.

that is my biggest complaint with all the men/women bashing threads of bitter people on FR, they want to take ZERO responsibility for having made the original error in selecting the mate in the first place.

My wife and I have been married for over 21 years and our sex life is better now than when we were first married! The lady in this article isn't being honest with herself. She just doesn't want to make the effort to find out what needs to change about her sex life with her husband. She has the notion in her head that she needs to go on "a quest" to find fulfillment. She should put the effort into her own marriage.

Same here.

The trick for men is not to marry stupid women. The trick for women is not to be stupid.

:-)

If he wasn’t, and she assumed that might get better with time, isn’t that a more forgivable sin than expecting a selfish and inconsiderate guy to change his stripes?

Hey! Some of us here look like her! :)

But do you have the same attitudes?

Well note the slams on the ‘cow’ author of this-—as if all us freeper females are super skinny and gorgeous.

OK, so we’re cows.

Women aren’t the only ones who can become unattractive over time.....Maybe he started out doable and things went south, fast....real fast. :)

If that’s the case — then he was sold a bill of goods. She lied when she took the vows stating he was the man she wanted to marry.

In the hustle of the day, were all inclined to miss
Little things that mean so much
A word, a smile, and a kiss
When a woman loves a man, hes a hero in her eyes
And a hero he can always be if hell just realize

She may be weary, women do get weary
Wearing the same shabby dress
And when shes weary, try a little tenderness

She may be waiting, just anticipating
Things she may never possess
While shes without them, try a little tenderness

Its not just sentimental, she has her grief and her care
But a word thats soft and gentle makes it easier to bear

You wont regret it, women dont forget it
Love is their whole happiness
And its all so easy, try a little tenderness

no. sex is an integral part of marriage, it has to satisfy both parties. it would be stupid to think you would GROW attracted to someone when there weren’t sparks there to begin with. marriage is supposed to last a lifetime, choose wisely.

The trouble with these women (including my ex) is that they get Oprah-ed into believing everything should be about their own self-fulfillment. They end up with a life-style and not a life.

Yep, it’s both hard in action as well as perception.
