Without knowing more, I don’t think he’s a sucker. Even the strongest man can just have the spirit chipped out of them little by little, by a woman who’s never satisifed and never takes any responsibility. I’ve seen it happen. The man just ends up defeated in spirit, especially the good men who tried to do the right thing.

Caitlin Flanagan writes about this in an article from a couple of years ago in Atlantic Monthly. She cites feminists who are out to embarrass their husbands like the author above. But she calls them on it and describes it accurately -- that sexual politics has become totally one-sided, favoring the woman, and that a woman out of love should get back into bed with her husband. The article is called "The Wifely Duty" but that is more tongue-in-cheek.

Admittedly, there is a double standard — as there has always been.

I’d say he was a sleaze, though. The term “slut” strikes me as gender-specific — but the moral judgement of the activity should be the same.
