Excerpt:
In 2004, the voters of Arizona, by 56 percent to 44 percent, enacted Proposition 200, requiring proof of citizenship before an individual may vote or receive state benefits. Forty-six percent of Hispanics voted for Prop. 200, giving the lie to those who say Hispanics support the illegal invasion of their country.
Over 190,000 Arizonans petitioned to put Prop. 200 on the ballot. As it simply required proof of citizenship before receiving the benefits and privileges of citizenship, who could oppose it? Answer: the entire GOP congressional delegation, led by Sen. John McCain.

But we can't allow our country to be Peroted again. That's what gave us those damned Clintons to begin with.
According to HotAir, Juan Hernandez the illegals champion has joined McCains team.
Now I know I will vote for Romney.
True, but that is how we got the majority as well. To bad they didn’t use it. AWB, spending and so on.
It is doubtful he will have a Republican Congress, and even if he does, exactly how has the Republican Congress kept Bush in check?
I don’t trust John “Gang of 14” McCain on judges any more than I trust him on anything else. He voted to confirm Ginsberg and has praised her in the past. We can expect judges like her if he’s President; we know he takes particular delight in sticking it to conservatives.
No.
I could not vote for The Hair Romney, looks like a write in for me.
If we're going to get essentially the same thing either way, then I would rather be able to blame the mess on a Rat and not someone with the Republican brand attached to their name. The only thing that really scares me about that scenario is the possible appointment of Supreme Court justices. But even then, I don't know that I can trust McLame to do any better. He is more concerned that the press write nice things about him.
Is this Pat’s Annual Acorn, as in “even a blind pig...”?
I guess I'll just wait and see, rather than tearing my hair out daily over how bad this all sucks.
But I tell you one thing, I will vote, and I will vote to defeat the Dems.
So according to Buchanan, who is the alternative?
The only anti-war candidate available in the Rep. primaries is Ron Paul.
All the candidates, except Ron Paul are extremely free trade.
On the abortion issue, we have one out of the closet pro-choicer (Rudy) and one ambiguously pro-”life” candidate that changes position on this all the time. The rest are all pro-life.
Buchanan’s sister is working for the Romney campaign, I wonder if that who Buchanan wants to win. I don’t know, but Romney doesn’t strike me as a guy who would be in synch with Buchanan’s trade policies.
Sad days my friends, really sad.
I respect whatever you choose to do.
I will do whatever I can to stop this invasion from Mexico. If Sheriff Arpaio, Tom Tancredo, have endorsed Romney on this issue, I feel the need to do so.
Jeff Sessions has not endorsed anyone, but he did point out Romney was addressing the issue.
It was a tough battle to stop that CIR bill, and I am not going to give it up yet.
I don't see that there would be much difference between McAmnesty and Shrillery or Osama/Obama. He defers to the Dems on almost every piece of legislation he pushes through (and they are without fail, huge, stinking turds). I don't trust him to have any kind of supporting administration that aren't a bunch of ass kissers who will go along with whatever he wants to do.
Look he changed the candidate names ... how cute! (sarcasm in case you didn't get it).
So McCain votes the same as Hillary and Obama, I didn't know those Democrats were so conservative. Maybe somebody should post their lifetime conservative score voting record, if Obama voted the same as McCain we should have him change to Republican and nominate him!
Buchanan nails it. McCain would be a disaster.
Bush was anointed by the GOP and everyone here pulled the the lever. 99% of you will follow this again with McCain. Kick and scream, you will vote for him.
You're right that the cast of characters surrounding the President is more important than the President himself. And I think it's going to be pretty much the same cast of characters no matter which one of the current figureheads wins the nomination.
The thing that worries me about McCain is his apparent mental instability - he's just the kind of guy who would get pissed off at some country, have a POW flashback, and order an unjustified nuclear first strike. He might not be ineffective as, say, Secretary of Defense, but he's not necessarily the guy whose finger you want on the trigger.
We all do what we have to do, and if He changes his mind again, like he has on everything else, the 2A may be all we have left to save our nation, and he has made it clear that is one right he will not protect.
So I can not trust him to protect anything else.
Oh, I will always vote. It’s just that this year I am really having to agonize over who and for what reason(s). I would really love to vote “for” someone instead of “against”, but my candidates of choice have all dropped out. It still might end up as voting against the Rats even though I hate the message that sends to those in the Rupublican party (that we’ll vote for the candidate with the “R” by their name regardless of how liberal they are). I don’t want the party to just be able to count on my vote. It might be better to take some bitter medicine for the next 4 years and send a clear message. I think they started to get it when we all rose up against the amnesty bill (but even then, they are still trying to sneak it through in other forms). The leadership of the party needs to know we are dead serious in this and that principles must come before expedience.
Well, that right will never be protected if Hillary or Obama win.
There isn’t a candidate in the race who hasn’t changed on something.
