Do you think Mom and Dad suggested that to make them look good—”Oh, don’t worry, honey, you can drop it when it gets hard and our friends will make sure you make good job and salary for doing something.” I guess she couldn’t handle it, but she managed to turn a history degree and an international relations Masters from Oxford into a six-figure salary at an international management consulting firm.
