Charles you are acting like a jerk... and you know it... you already apologized to someone once in this thread. I may get passionate but only because I love America... you and I see a different America... we will never unite and I predict that the Republican Party will not unite until it suffers total defeat. America is soft and all we have are soft Republicans to lead her. These four lemmings are not what America needs in the world of today. They are a pitiful lot and all these thousands of posts are just spinning to justify the false hope these charlatans offer. I trust none of them... I trust you less. If Jim Robinson thinks that those of us in the Conservative movement are causing problems here, I will gladly leave and never come back. If he does not think were are the problem... then I am not going away and I will not shut-up as so many want the base to do. I have pinged Jim and he can ask me to leave if he thinks that I and other passionate Conservatives are no longer wanted or needed here. The Republican Party seems to be asking us to leave so one never knows. We shall see. Either way... unlike our candidates tonight... I am a man of my word and I will keep it.

I went after your post because you made a blanket statement asserting what Fred Thompson was saying about the debate. You have no idea what he is saying about the debate. You just made up what he was saying, based on what YOU were saying.

You stole his name to make your point.

I apologized for an off-debate post during the live thread, because the live thread is where we discuss what the candidates are saying, not side issues.

I don’t mind you having a passion, but I do mind when you put words in other people’s mouths. I have MY opinion of what Fred Thompson would say about the debate, and if I posted it I would label it as my opinion, but why should I have an opinion of HIS opinion?

If Fred Thompson wants to comment on the debate, he’s got a phone, and a bevy of reporters who will be HAPPY to take his call.

If he does NOT want to comment on it, he certainly doesn’t want you making up his statement for him.

That’s what I’m objecting to, and the appropriate response was “you are right, I should speak for myself”.

If I started posting MY views as if Fred Thompson said them, I’d get a lot more back than one person asking me to stop.

BTW, I don’t want you to leave. I certainly would prefer you take a 2nd look at the candidate I support, as I think you are very wrong about him. But I agree with your POSITIONS on the issues, almost every time you actually post a position on an issue. We don’t need people who are right on the issues to leave the board.

It’s when you make statements about other people that I strongly disagree with you. But even disagreement is OK.
