Not so sure. He dropped those names all in a single answer to Ron Paul's question. Paul hit him with an economic question on some Federal agency or something and I don't think McCain had a clue what he was getting at so he fell back on this rambling answer about all these old time eoncominc guys he had around him to handle all that stuff. I saw him using the name dropping as a recovery attempt from a fumble.

McCain obviously didn't understand the question, and probably had never before heard mention of the Working Group on Financial Markets (otherwise known as the Plunge Protection Team). It's not one of his main interests. It does, as Rep. Paul pointed out, operate out of the public's view, in secret.
McCain may be all in favor of sunshine, but he hasn't a clue where the sunshine needs to be let in.
But you can bet that just about everyone in the securities industry who was watching took notice.
