Kucinich vows to keep fighting for causes Posted by Molly Kavanaugh January 25, 2008 14:28PM John Kuntz/The Plain Dealer U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who has bowed out of the presidential race, with his wife, Elizabeth. Rep. Dennis Kucinich officially ended his yearlong quest for the White House Friday by pledging that his energy will be devoted to winning a seventh term in Congress. Kucinich made his announcement surrounded by family members and about 50 supporters at the International Laborers' Union hall on Euclid Ave. The 61-year-old congressman announced the creation of a national organization, Integrity Now, which will continue to push his presidential campaign agenda of ending the war in Iraq. Kucinich said all the energy that had gone into his presidential campaign could now be "transitioned" to the new group. He gave few details of the organization but said his wife, Elizabeth, would play a major role, and he urged people to visit integritynow.org. He said that being shut out of presidential debates coupled with a recent meeting with local labor leaders convinced him that it was time to focus on returning to Congress. He ended his 35-minute press conference, saying "I'm glad to be back."
