That's always a possibility... I got the impression he read the book because he recommended it to everybody. He and I would often discuss Logos software, books, commentaries, etc. He's a nice guy but he's definitely a non-conformist and didn't think some things applied to him.

I wrote the wife and said I'd like to get Blue Like Jazz just to get some ideas.

I like his books. I don’t agree with his politics but his books are enjoyable. He does not take himself too seriously and most of the humor in his books is directed at himself.

I can see why some here have their panties firmly in a wad simply because he does not toe the “Dobson Mandate”.
