Refresh my memory. Type II errors are false negatives?

Yeah, I can get them switched, too.

A TYPE II ERROR

is

NOT

REJECTING THE NULL HYPOTHESIS

WHEN

IT IS FALSE


NULL SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THERE.

IF

THERE IS SOMETHING THERE

and the decision is to believe NOTHING IS THERE

THEN you have a TYPE II ERROR.

So, a false negative is a fair way of stating it.

I have to think it through at least every third time.
