“At this point the only thing the repubs have going for them in getting my vote is my knowledge that B. Hussein or Hillary would be far worse.”

Same here. That being said, in good conscience I cannot vote for the Huckster: There are just too many negatives about the guy, and he makes me very uncomfortable. He wants us to believe he went from a pro-illegal alien amnesty and freebie stance to an anti- overnight? No way. He said the U.S. Constitution should be amended to reflect the law of God? Nope. The constitution should and must remain secular.

He can only win if he freezes himself for 500 years and wakes up to a world like in Ideocracy where smart people have bred themselves out of existence.

Funny, I caught the tail end of that movie last night. I think it was a hell of a political commentary.

Look at the ISSUES. Huckabee is NOT the most conservative candidate left.

You mean Huckabee wants to strengthen the laws to put a drag on the rampant growth of freaks in society? Yea, as a Conservative I am all for that!

You pretty much sum up what I think Hucksters believe. If you believe that it is government's role to "put a drag on the rampant growth of freaks in society" you are NOT a conservative.

It is interesting that some people, including some FReepers, regard Huckabee as a conservative.

As does, obviously, Congressman Hunter.

It would be interesting to know how many of Hunter's supporters here were drawn to him because he was emphatic about his faith.

It has been assumed for a long time that the important part of the two-word designator "Christian Right" was "Right".

This may be incorrect. In fact, if you analyze the participation of political evangelicals in the process back to 1976 and forward to 2008, you would conclude that it probably IS incorrect.

Perhaps for political Christians, it's the Jesus talk that's essential, and everything else is open for discussion.

Huckabee is only socially conservative.

He would govern like a Christian Democrat.

No thanks.

Looked around lately?

We have either already done that, or the smart ones have migrated to parts unknown. ;)

"Huckabee wants to strengthen the laws to put a drag on the rampant growth of freaks in society"

Yep. Freaks like people who drive certain cars, eat certain foods, smoke certain (legal) products... those freaks.

Well just from this thread we can see the two major attacks on Huckabee.

On the one hand he is not a Conservative, with people saying he is actually a liberal in disguise.

Then on the other hand we have people calling him Stalin as if he wants to intrude in peoples private lives.

Excuse me but when the two major attacks are so completely different that tells me they got nothing.

Which is it people? He is either Stalin or he is the fifth Beatles. He can’t be both.

I think we might see a Huckabee/Hunter Ticket next week, prior to the Florida Primaries.

At this point in time, they deserve each other, but not my vote!

Do you want your kids eating junk in public schools and becoming unhealthy and having life long health problems because of it? Everything has a specific context.

Why do people always leave Paul out? He’ll gut socialism and globalism like a fish, Goldwater style.

Duncan can support Huck all he wants. Sorry, Duncan, I can’t follow you over there.

Aha there is that word “Conservative”.

At least show me where you get that with the others.

Sorry, He isn’t a Reagan conservative.

He only appeals to the evangelicals. Most do not understand that he is also a progressive.

I smell a secular agnostic (at best), or an anti-Christian God-hater (at worst) when I read comments like these.

First Supreme Court Chief Justice John Jay suggested that, as a Christian nation, it is our right (if not our obligation) to elect Chritian leaders. You got a problem with that, Lucifer?

;-/

No need to be sorry. You only speak for yourself.

By saying “He isn’t a Reagan conservative.”

The implication is that he is still *some-kind* of a Conservative. Show me where you get that with the others that out weighs him.

“Huckabee is a religious socialist and believes that government should control people’s lives, “for their own good”, of course.”
