...hoping to determine how a massive drug investigation, spearheaded by the DEA, became a debacle.

I can tell them in three letters, DEA. I doubt that Lee Lucas will even have to give back his hero of the WOD medals. After all, he was doing what he was hired to do.

She should sue for malcious prosecution and name Lucas as part of a criminal conspiracy. Let the SOB defend himself.

Of all the women in Mansfield, why me? Because I didn't go out on a date?

A likely scenario. But hey if you're innocent and have nothing to hide, what's there to worry about? Well, except those who [for whatever moronic reason] have an agenda against you and will bear false witness as a means to their end.

Stack those 25 prison sentences up and let the false accusers serve the time.

How about a detailed look into the DEA period? Why hasn’t this agent been fired?

Today, federal prosecutors will meet with a judge to discuss throwing out the convictions of 15 men imprisoned in the same tainted investigation -- including the case against a man serving 30 years in prison.

I can understand why people are opposed to the legalization of drugs...but what I can't understand are these ridiculous federal sentences for drug offenses at the federal level. 30 years is about what you are facing if you are caught growing marijuana, transporting or selling and the US Attorneys go after you. The only way to reduce a sentence is for the defendant to essentially become a prostitute for the DEA/Feds..which is where the untruthful evidence obviously originated. This is the scenario day after day at the AUSA office. Usually they have the right guys but in many cases innocent people get caught up in the lies. !

Terrible... heart-wrenching story here. THIS is the American Justice System?! This is a fool’s court! There should REALLY be lie detectors placed in these courtrooms so that it would be just that more infinitely hard to lie about something.

Just why the heck haven’t they done that yet? This entire debacle is inexcusable, and she doesn’t even have enough money to sue these morons back for the liable and the damage they’ve caused.

a special federal prosecutor and an investigator have spent hours listening to France, hoping to determine how a massive drug investigation, spearheaded by the DEA, became a debacle

This is surprising- normally when drug prosecutors hear about a wrongful conviction their first instinct is to bury the evidence.

Victimless crimes require an intrusive police state as their is no complainant.

The “war on drugs” and the DEA need to be shut down and the judge in this one needs to be burned at the stake.

Jurors afterward said they believed Lucas. After all, he was a federal agent.

That's, unfortunately, a misplaced trust that has not been earned.
