Giuliani: Ready for a Hurricane?

Rudy Giuliani continues to pitch himself as a great guy in a crisis — even a Florida hurricane. The Giuliani camp’s latest Web ad ahead of Florida’s Jan. 29 primary suggests the former New York mayor will know what to do if the Big One strikes — just as he knew what to do after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The ad, entitled “Some” and featured on his campaign site, pushes the former New York mayor’s plan for a national catastrophe fund — a popular idea with many Floridians. “Some say we don’t need a national catastrophe fund. That FEMA can handle disasters,” the ad states. “Others say they haven’t looked at it yet and want to sit down with insurance companies first.”

The ad states that “Only one Republican candidate has proven experience dealing with disaster.” Flash to Giuliani in New York, wearing a N.Y. Fire Department baseball cap and a face mask. The ad concludes: “The only one for Florida.”

Only one Republican candidate has proven experience dealing with disaster.
Giuliani's paucity of candidate strengths to help differentiate himself from the pack is wearing extraordinarily thin.
Hey, Rudy;here's an alternative election slogan that is a definite improvement;"How Bad Can I Really Be"? or "As President I Promise Not to Be Worse Than Jimmy Carter".
I'm Rudy "One-Note" Giuliani and I approved these election slogans.

This kind of stuff is why I would not be able to support Giuliani even if he wasn’t a socail leftist.

I'm all for it, as long as it sucks votes from McCain.

However, in the previous 6 primaries, Rudy hasn't shown that "sucking votes from McCain" is his strong suit.

Can’t vote for anyone who tires to live off past glories, be they real or imagined. As far as this sorry group of schmucks is concerned, Giuliani isn’t the only one who tries his.

lol. Sorry, the tights are not pink enough. (and there’s way too much bulge for someone as politically emasculated as the self-anointed savior of the free world.)

.......in the previous 6 caucuses/primaries, Rudy hasn't shown "sucking votes from McCain" is his strong suit........

FREEPER STOCKTRADER SAID IT BETTER THAN ANYBODY: Rudy's “campaign” will go down as one of the most inept in modern history. If he loses Florida--where he has virtually LIVED for the last few months--his campaign will have exceeded Howard Dean's when it comes to ineptitude (and Rudy didn't even have to scream. It will be the mismanagement standard.....and 'model'.....for all future "how-NOT-to-run-a-campaign" strategies. After all, how many candidates have EVER blown a lead as big as the one he had??

ROTFL----love, love, love it----that analysis has gotta go into the political history books.

Man, Rooty got piped but good.

Giuliani worships at the Church of Whatever Works For Me.

He has no moral center, he has no spiritual fidelity, and is completely without political loyalty.

Says he's "conservative" but sucked up to liberals, sought Liberal backing, and employed numerous Liberals as Mayor/candidate.

He worships abortion, gay rights, and gun grabbing----all completly against Republican principles.

His most fervent wish is to religiously cleanse the party and dump so/cals off the party lifeboat.

Rudy can get on his knees and hail Beelzebub dawn til dusk-----that ain't gonna happen.

Speaking of hurricanes, this is the 2nd year in a row in which we were all going to die horribly in a man-made, global-warming induced hurricane. What a joke. Not only are we alive, but I don’t think it ever even got breezy in hurrican alley this year.

Hate to say it but Guiliani could still actually win Florida with all the absentee ballots, as much as 25% of the electorate has already voted.

If Rudy loses, it proves his strategy failed...but what we the people need to take out of it is the fact that the election results can be controlled by NH and Iowa....and from what I heard there is not a lot of control here. Kind of scary.

If Rudy wins Florida, he could easily be the GOP nominee and this strategy of his will be a genius move.

If he doesn’t, it won’t.

It’s because of independents and democrats voting in New Hampshire and SC that McCain is where he is. Just a few months ago he had to pull out of Florida for lack of money. Republican primaries should be for Republicans only, I don’t know why it’s setup the way it is.

Rick Santorum had an interesting take on Florida, he thinks that if Guiliani wins there that actually helps Romney since Guiliani staying in will split the liberal/moderate vote between him and McCain.

Seems like its set up for a few people to determine the outcome.

Seems to me like something this important should mix it up a little bit....they do it for the conventions, superbowls, the olympics. Isn’t this a little more important than to let the backward political processes shouldn’t have the say over and over again.

Rudy ain't going to win FL, this is a closed Republican primary and without the conservatives Rudy is screwed.

And good riddance too...

If that's the case it's working out exactly the way they planned it.

Have you seen 25% have already voted in Florida and exit polls of those early voters show strong support for Guliani? It might be that you turn out to be correct and he's gone next week but we could be in for some surprises there. As far as McCain I'm predicting a third place finish.

It certainly will be a factor but of course the ongoing polls (for whatever value they have) of course show the obvious - not all the votes are for Guliani. It also shows that those that voted for Guliani were motivated Guliani supporters that would have probably not been swayed to another candidate so that limits any votes he may have already attained.

There’s literally nothing this scumbag wouldn’t exploit or fearmonger in an attempt to round up votes. Dancing on the graves of 9/11 victims must have lost its appeal if he’s trying to frighten the people of Florida with something different now. I can see him looking at the sky, fingers crossed behind his back “Gosh, I sure hope thousands of people don’t die between now and the primary!”
