I know [sigh]. By now you'd think I wouldn't even have that little spark of hope left, but I try to be the optimist.

Things have really changed around the Durango area since I grew up there and I know I could never live there again, but the natural beauty of the country in that part of Colorado is spectacular. It's part of what keeps drawing people there. That and the access to so many outdoor activities from one central location (hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, rafting, hunting, etc.)

We spent a week in Colorado last June. Went to Pike's Peak, Royal Gorge, etc. We found a dirt road near the Royal Gorge, I think it was Phantom Trail, and we were the only ones on it for miles. Just followed our nose over the mountain - the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. We would love to go back.
