I have a hard time feeling any sympathy. Anyone in business knows that you usually pay emxempt staff at a higher base salary because they can’t get overtime pay. If you are going to sue to be classified as non-exempt in order ot be eligible for overtime, you shouldn’t be surprised when your base pay is adjusted accordingly.

At least somebody around here has a nodding acquaintance with reality in the corporate world, especially where federal labor laws are concerned.

I notice the usual members of the Perpetually-Offended club are all over this one. Grade school must have let out early today.

And if you want to be treated like an hourly employee don't complain when your job suddenly is up for grabs on the world market. Reading some of these posts make me think that this site is full of democrats and the anti-free market crowd. I'm retired now but never looked at my job in negative terms or my employer as an exploiter of my labor. If 5 hours extra a week makes one bitter, feeling like a slave, there is no doubt in my mind that that person is in the wrong job and should be working elsewhere.
