You know, as Governor, Reagan did some awesome things. He also did some things that were very un-conservative. As a candidate and as President, though, he pretty well articulated the conservative gold standard.
I think that we have to give Romney the benefit of the doubt, if Reagan is a guide. Reagan’s record as governor was more liberal than his message in the campaigns. So it is with Romney. But at the end of the day, Romney is, in fact, saying all the right things.
It is entirely possible that Romney is going to be very much like Reagan in this regard.
