Lifetime CG exemption of $500,000 on houses is in place now.I though that was only if you rolled over the proceeds into another house within two years. I admit ignorance on this -- I've never sold a house, so I haven't investigated all that closely.

I think the lifetime limit was removed. You can get the exemption again again as long as you lived in the home for X # years before selling. I think its 2-3 yrs?
