If you don’t put in Cheney because of health, and if Romney turned out to win the votes for nomination, why not put Cheney in anyway and run Romney as the vp?

Of course Cheney may not like the idea of running under those conditions, but maybe he wouldn’t mind. If his health started to deteriorate, he could resign and let Romney take over. He could be president for a couple of years and then retire.

What do you think?

And so Rush, when it might have really helped, why didn’t you give Duncan Hunter some much needed name exposure before your vast audience?

Yep Rush....you could have influenced this election.
You may not vote but I’ll crawl over broken glass to
keep Hilary and nasty Bill out of the White House for
another 8 years.

I like Rudy a lot, and I’d certainly vote for him over any Dem, but you cannot be defiantly pro-choice and expect to win the Republican nomination.

Given a ticket of Dick Cheney vs. Clinton or Obama;
just who do you think Republicans and the majority of registered Independents would vote for?...I’ll take Cheney any day and Cheney would hand either one of the ‘Rats their lunch in a debate!!!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I really like Cheney, too, but to have to listen to people blathering on about Haliburton for 4-8 years would be torture. Maybe not as bad as having to eradicate Clinton cooties from the White House again, though.

From my years of visiting many and various forums, It is my considered opinion that Cheney is almost as unpopular as Hillary.

“RUSH LIMBAUGH: I like Duncan. I have great admiration for Duncan Hunter.”

snip from: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_072707/content/01125121.guest.html

So why didn’t Rush support Duncan Hunter when he had the chance? Yeah, yeah, Rush doesn’t endorse anybody (sigh).

So who’s sorry now?

Great! So then if the Republicans don’t vote, the Dems win by default??? Not one of Rush’s better ideas.

OTOH, if we continue to support non-conservatives simply because they're not Dems, then the GOP has almost no chance of EVER getting back to where it belongs. That's a realistic point, that perhaps it's worth the pain of a loss in order to finally and unequivocally transmit the message to the GOP that we will no longer tolerate a GOP that can barely be distinguished from the Dems.

Then there's the argument (and a powerful one) that the time to make such a radical point is NOT when Hillary is the Dem nominee.

In any event, the GOP is in mortal danger. I have always believed that a Hillary nomination would turn EVERY Republican into a broken-glass Republican. I'm no longer certain about that. Conservatives are seriously fed up with the GOP's utter failure to uphold conservatism, govern with a spine, etc.

I loathe McQueeg. Doesn't mean I'd vote for Mengele junior instead.

But if you hold your nose and vote for McRino (and he wins) he will tell you that you really do love him and that he knows what's best for you and now that he's President we're going to find out WHO STOLE THE STRAWBERRIES!!!!

No, its not crazy, its based on his actions in the Senate. There is little point in enumerating them as that would most likely only lead to pointless bickering. For the purpose of this thread it is enough to say that there are Republicans I would not vote for and why.

If the RNC can’t field a candidate I sure can’t cast a vote.

Hunter doesn’t own Clear Channel. I don’t think Rush really liked Hunter because of his trade position. Rush thinks free trade at any cost is conservative as do a third of all Republicans. The free trade chickens are coming home to roost along with the unwise lending practices. Wall St. started whining and the Fed cut rates and Bush and the Dems are working on a stimulus package. Yes, they really are that dumb. :)

Cheney’s nomination and election would be a validation of the success of the GW Bush administration and recognition of what a Great President he is.

That’s pretty heavy defeatism. I don’t believe we should ever stop fighting for what is right and truly American.

" . . . voted four separate times for a bill in the IL Senate that would allow a mother, after a botched abortion and her baby was live-born, to kill it after the fact."

That was actually a bill in Illinois? Are you talking about Obama? Did the bill pass?

Rush is having his Dobson moment. When all the candidates are “unacceptable”, where do we go from there?
