What reasons might you have?
To keep the RINOS out, number one. :) Also, RP matches up well with FRed in most areas. It seems the ones he doesn’t match up on are very important, such as the war and rebuilding the Military.
Hmmm, I was sent this chart...[my comments]
1. Fred and Ron believe in a strong national defense. [how strong]
2. Fred and Ron both would like to do something about Social Security and other entitlements before the overwhelming debt destroys us. They also agree on cutting wasteful government spending to help achieve this goal.[what’s RP’s plan]
3. Fred and Ron both would like to drastically reform the tax code and IRS.[what’s RP’splan]
4. Fred and Ron agree that a free market and consumer-driven approach to health care is better than socialized medicine run from Washington.[RP’s plan is similar to FRed’s]
5. Fred and Ron agree that a smaller federal government is needed.
6. Fred and Ron agree that states rights provided by the Constitution should not be ignored.
7. Fred and Ron agree that there should be no amnesty, in any form, for illegal immigrants.
8. Fred and Ron agree that the federal education system isnt working and parents should have more choice.
9. Fred and Ron agree that Supreme Court judges should follow the Constitution.
10. Fred and Ron agree on 2nd Amendment Rights to bear arms.
Ron Paul most closely matches Freds overall platform that promotes...
individual liberty
personal responsibility
free markets
limited government
Federalism (states rights)
protecting our country
American values
Rule of Law
OTOH, the guy that sent it to me can’t tell me specifics. I also have issues with RP having introduced over 300 pieces of legislation over his 20+years, but only something like 5 have been passed.
So, the question I ask myself is, will RP be less damaging than the “leftovers”? Because, I just can’t vote for any of them, under any circumstances.
But, then again, RP will never get elected anyway. LOL
