I’m not going to vote for Mitt just because he’s not McCain. He’s going to have to convence me that he is the best man left. That’s not a high bar, but so far I don’t think he’s made it.
He is the least likely one to win in the general election IMO, so he has to prove that he isn’t a wolf in sheep’s skin. Both Rudy and McCain say “What you see is what you get.” Mitt says, “Don’t look at what I used to be; look at what I say.” I’m not buying it.
He is the best man left, and when I vote for him it will be FOR him and not a lesser-of-two-RINOs choice. This is what Mitt Romney ran on in 1994. see below. This "dont look at what I used to be" is bogus and you are right to look at his record. But there's been a lot of exaggerations of how much Mitt has changed. He has been a consistent fiscal and law-and-order conservative his whole political career. ... please, look at what Mitt Romney used to be, here, and if you like 80% of it, maybe he is enough of an improvement over Proamnesty-antiBushtaxcuts-proCO2caps-CFR-RINO John McCain to be your candidate.
