"Liberty and freedom” does not mean a “free lunch”.

If you show up in the ER without Health Insurance, you’re a deadbeat. I don’t want to pay for your healthcare.

Individuals should have their own damn Health Insurance.

I don’t think that’s so difficult to understand. It’s called personal responsibility.

Without personal responsibilty, any notions of a “Free” “Republic” go up in smoke.

So why don't the founding documents of this nation require everyone to purchase health insurance?

By you logic it should be mandatory that everyone own a car. Because moochers use public transportation.

Or everyone should be required by law to have children, just in case they get old and need someone to take care of them.

Or we should send police into every home to inspect for smoke alarms, fire extenguishers, and to do BOD tests. " It’s called personal responsibility."

It looks to me like you are advocating exchanging Liberty for security.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C. S. Lewis

I believe that there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. -James Madison

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? -Thomas Jefferson

The history of liberty is a history of the limitations of governmental power, not the increase of it. - Woodrow Wilson

We stand in danger of losing our liberties, and . . . once lost, only blood will bring them back . . . -J. Reuben Clark, Jr.

ake, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death! -Address to the Virginia Convention 23 March 1775 by Patrick Henry

You believe in a “Free Lunch”.

I don’t.

We just disagree.
