Dear fellow Fredheads,
It's time to support Mitt Romney. Can Mitt win in a general election? I don't know. Certainly he has always had a better chance than Fred. And if the opposition is Hillary Clinton, then maybe.
McCain can beat Hillary. But McCain is, well, McCain.
To be honest, I'm not as down on McCain as most of my fellow Jawas and you, the readers. But that's just because I've been a one-issue guy since right around, oh, let me see, I think the date was 9/11/2001.
But still, McCain doesn't get that the border is tied in with our national security.
Mitt does. And he seems to get the war on political Islam.
Sure, Rudy also seems to get both, but it's probably too little too late for him.
I'm hearing some oddball theory that a lot of Fredheads are natural Huckabee supporters. That's insane. Like, certifiably insane.
It's built on the presumption that the evangelical supporters of Thompson are in the same boat as the evangelical supporters of Huckabee. I got news for Tom Edsell: they aint the same animal. Sure, they may have the same funny accent, and so I'm guessing that to an outsider like Edsell the presumption is that they must be the same species. But they're not.

We probably will, but without much enthusisasm.
I’d vote for the Antichrist before I would for Hillary.
Romney will push for mandatory health insurance. This is one of his strongest positions.
One thing to keep an eye on with Romney.
After what Bush did on illegal immigration, stay on top of Romney to secure the border, stop entitlements to them, and complete the fence.
Demand it every day!
I think that winning here and abroad is an attainable goal. Living in northern CO I feel the crunch of “Los Illegales.” By pulling our assets from abroad it is only going to give a signal of military weakness. With China flexing and so many other countries wishing for our demise, sometimes it is better to just posture than to take away all uncertainty.
“Your post history shows just how adamantly you opposed the only conservative candidate among the top tier. Please dont play the “Fred is gone. Lets kiss and make up game now. Its just too disingenuous.
Fred is out of the race due in part to people like you who refused to support the one who would have supported conservatism for us. Your choice may win the nomination, but he is still a man with a CINO political career.
But you can relax. Many here will go to Mitt because, once again, real conservatives have been pushed aside and they will have to choose among what’s left or sit it out. However, you two and many others from the FR Kill Thompson for Romney campaign are probably pushing it with a of people today.”
You sound kind of bitter.
After what Bush did on illegal immigration, stay on top of Romney to secure the border, stop entitlements to them, and complete the fence.
Demand it every day!
You posit an interesting dilemma: Do I encourage my congresscritters to fight a DemonRat President's initiatives, or do I encourage them to fight a RINO President's plans? I'm still trying to decide the lesser of two evils here.
“Reading these post must make the folka over at moveon.org feel real good. You all sound like a bunch of children who are not getting their way. I am disappointed about Fred too, but no matter who the republican nominee is they will get my full support. Its either that or Hillary, and I can not imagine any true republican wantign that. So grow up folks.”
No one will say it, but Fred pissed away a golden opportunity and let down his supporters with the way he ran his non-campaign campaign.
I disagree with you about which of the two, McCain or Romney has the best chance in November. I think it is Romney. McCain has POed too many Republicans too many different ways. He has been confrontational about it, too. He is overtly relying on votes that might get him through the open primary states but will go to the Democrat in November.
Most FredHeads will jump on the Romney wagon. Just because FDT and McCain are friends, does not mean that FredHeads will blindly support the liberal McCain.
Dear Mr. Wayne,
What color is the sky on your planet?
Regards,
L
Romney will do no damage to the pro-life cause. He will owe his election to pro-lifers and will not cross them. He may not do anything FOR us but he won’t do any knife work on our backs, either. I expect he will be like Bush I on that. McCain is actively for embryonic stem-cell research even with all the advances coming from non-homicidal stem cell research.
They shouldn't. That's why we need LESS regulation, not more like Romney wants.
You are mistaken.
I hate having to choose the best Democrat because there are no Republicans in the race.
Lets see, the negatives on Hillary Clinton is 48-52%.
Mitt can definitely whip a candidate with negatives like that. Once we all get behind the candidate the independents will stick their finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing and fall in behind us.
Thank you!
You didn’t cover his judicial picks, though.
So you support McCain. Got it.
