Fredheads, It's Time to Support Mitt
The Jawa Report ^ | January 22, 2008 05:18 PM | Dr. Rusty Shackleford

Posted on 01/22/2008 3:22:24 PM PST by Checkers

Dear fellow Fredheads,

It's time to support Mitt Romney. Can Mitt win in a general election? I don't know. Certainly he has always had a better chance than Fred. And if the opposition is Hillary Clinton, then maybe.

McCain can beat Hillary. But McCain is, well, McCain.

To be honest, I'm not as down on McCain as most of my fellow Jawas and you, the readers. But that's just because I've been a one-issue guy since right around, oh, let me see, I think the date was 9/11/2001.

But still, McCain doesn't get that the border is tied in with our national security.

Mitt does. And he seems to get the war on political Islam.

Sure, Rudy also seems to get both, but it's probably too little too late for him.

I'm hearing some oddball theory that a lot of Fredheads are natural Huckabee supporters. That's insane. Like, certifiably insane.

It's built on the presumption that the evangelical supporters of Thompson are in the same boat as the evangelical supporters of Huckabee. I got news for Tom Edsell: they aint the same animal. Sure, they may have the same funny accent, and so I'm guessing that to an outsider like Edsell the presumption is that they must be the same species. But they're not.

If you are right about Mitt Romney why aren’t gays and lesbians marching by his side supporting him? You are wrong. Here you go:

You believe in a “Free Lunch”.

I don’t.

We just disagree.

I may take another look at Ron... Me too. He has a number of good positions. And a number of not so good positions. Hmm...worth another look.

(You are very sick.) Mitt Romney does not deserve such filthy misrepresentation.

I doubt you even know why you hate Mitt Romney so much.

Right now, I’m vacillating between Mitt-wit and the Texas Space Case, but I suspect that, in the end, I’ll be voting for Mitt-wit.

“The cost of health care spirals up for all of us when people get free care in our hospitals. We are subsidizing those without insurance already by absorbing the costs of their care every time we pay a hospital bill. It’s time they cover themselves, get in debt for it, or do without.”

yep

“Remove mandates from hospitals to provide health care. Decrease mandates...don’t increase them like Romney wants to do.”

As for me and my house, we will vote for Mitt with clear conscience. It is horrible what filth is allowed on this website against a good fine family man. Mitt Romney is the hardest working, most committed conservative of the whole bunch. And these cheap shots just keep coming; meanwhile, he holds his head high and keeps going forward.

You anti Romney zealots are in bed with the MSM. Havin’ fun? Did you ever stop to wonder why the media absolutely loathes Romney so much? Are you happy to be in bed with the liberal media elite?

We were talking about the presidential campaign. You asked what’s wrong with mandated health insurance in THAT context. My response had the word “Congress.”

Congress doesn’t rule the state of Massachussets.

Try to keep up.

Hank

Are some of these people purposefully misrepresenting Romney’s plans?

Is that you singing in the video?

I don’t hate Mitt. I just could never vote for a gungrabbing nanny-stater.

His flipflops on gay marriage have been funny. So I thought the Brokeback Mountain cover with him and Larry Craig was funny. A little black humor, given that one of the actors sadly passed away.

Of McCain, Rudy and Romney, only one believes the illegals have to leave: Romney.

Yeah...right...but he changed every philosophical stance he ever had just as he entered his bid for the Presidency. It's akin to his new NRA membership and growing up hunting on the farm, and owing a gun ONCE. There's a term for this you know. It's called PANDERING. But what they heck, he's got charisma, great hair and was successful in business, right?

Since you're going to ask, I'll just tell you straight up that there are a number of us who won't vote for a RINO...."Willard The Weatherman" included. But we won't vote for a democrat either. We're going to pencil in the best man for the job. The problem is that we're a bit hard to count. We don't answer the phone for pollsters. We don't partake in on-line polls, and we're generally not very communicative about our intentions. I'm an odd exception and the reason most are very quiet is because they don't like taking crap about it from sheeple such as yourself.

But be warned... I think there are enough of us to toss the balance of the election to the democrats, simply because we did what was right. To hell with the GOP. They abandoned us at Shamnesty.

There now. Is that so hard to understand? We're going to throw the election. Hide and watch.

Giuliani is a democrat. McCain is insane. Paul is functionally insane since he can’t communicate whatsoever. Huckabee is a populist. And Romney is basically the John Kerry of the Republican party. With Thompson dropping out there is a very real chance my vote will be for “write in: Ralph Wiggum.”

What a pathetic joke the republican party is.

That phrase makes me want to laugh, cry and throw up. Pretty much in that order.

Hank,

See if YOU can keep up.

Romney is not in favor of mandating health insurance at the Federal level.

Got it?

Re health care. It’s a big issue with the electorate in case you hadn’t noticed. I am against illegals receiving free health care but our own people, that’s a different story. I am for all able-bodied people working and paying for their own health care through insurance programs, etc.

That being said, I want to tell you about my husband who about 12 years ago came down with a football size tumor growing from his tailbone into his abdomen. It was very painful!!!! So painful that he could not work - doctors in Fresno said it was inoperable - and because he could not work, he lost everything. Lost everything including health insurance. Finally, a doc told him about a doctor at UCSF Med Ctr in SF. He met with the doctor and found hope. With no health insurance, though, it was a no go. Scott had to fight with, and humiliate himself, by begging “Medi-Cal” to pay for the life-saving surgery. He did get the surgery (10 hrs) but was supposed to have radiation afterwards but due to the humiliation and nightmare bureaucracy, he opted to forget about the radiation treatments. Five years later, the tumor came back with a vengeance but this time we were married and his health had greatly improved and we had health insurance. He had another surgery and this time had conventional radiation and cyberknife. Thank God, he is OK.

Sorry to bore you with a personal horror story but these kind of stories are repeated all over America and people are dying for a president who understands. Mitt Romney is the only GOP candidate who gets this and he doesn’t just talk about it; he has actually tried to do something about it. Romney is the only one who can debate Hillary on this subject with credibility.

Have a heart, FReepers!!!!!!!
