McLean, VA - Senator Fred Thompson today issued the following statement about his campaign for President:
"Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people."

Well, my GOP friends in Mass like Rootie, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the border.
People who complain about Romney do so because of his past positions (and that he kept his campaign promises). The gripe would be legit if Romney had a history of saying one thing and doing another.
But he doesn’t.
I assure you, there is no “happy” in whatever my mood is. It is with the greatest sadness that I will cast my vote for the Democrat this election. My party has abandoned this country.

- Appointed two Conservative Supreme Court Justices.
- Upheld a ban on a form of partial birth abortion.
- Overthrew two brutal regimes.
