I think this proves several points in glaring clarity.
The first and most important being that this is NOT the powerful forum that many Freepers believe it is.
Yes, we do hold some sway with a press that is sometimes desperate for storys and FACTS, but we do not influence The Party, or the voters very much.
The left has succsessfuly demonized us, it seems, as just another “Right-Wing hate site” in the eyes of many...
If we want to WIN, we have to work WITHIN the Party Processes, and COMPROMISE with those we call RINO’s to advance any kind of a conservative agenda. We are but a small slice of a much bigger pie, and we must all work together to stop the advance of Democrat Corruption and Socialism...
FRED is/was definately my first choice in this circus, but now I am forced to move on to Mitt...
A) Most RINOs have no interest in advancing any kind of conservative agenda.
B) Most RINO's like democratic socialism.
What's to stop the advance of REPUBLICAN Corruption and Socialism as long as we keep nominating RINOS?
There is no compromise. The compromise is the Reagan Coaliton candidate. Without that, nothing... as it should be.
You may keep your RINOs. I will come back to the party ONLY if the Baker "Big Tent" is folded up and thrown away, and the party returns to Reagan Republicanism.
A "win" under such circumstances would be no win at all. I'd rather lose to the devil I know that "win" with a turncoat, a compromiser, or an opportunist.
So Sen. Thompson has dropped out? It's far from being the end of the world. I would likely have voted for him, but only as the least of two evils. Both the Democrat and Republican parties are hopelessly corrupt; no matter which party wins, the big business community, the technocrats, the educational unions, and the federal bureaucracy will still have the real power in our country.
Nothing short of a collapse of the federal government will be required for any real political change to occur; if such a collapse ever happens, however, a lot of innocent people will get hurt, and nobody wants to see that.
Therefore, I do not worry too much about national politics. No matter who is elected, abortion will remain legal, invaders will still pour across our southern border, Muslims will still plot to kill us all, and I'll still have to fill out a federal tax return every year. For these things to change, a change in culture will be required - a spiritual renaissance, in which the materialist, utilitarian, postmodern Zeitgeist that underlies our society is replaced by the traditional Judeo-Christian culture of pre-Modern times.
That renaissance is the true goal for which we should strive, not some phony, temporary revolution at the polls. If we revive the culture, the politics will take care of themselves. Good culture = good country.
And this compromising approach is PRECISELY what has left the GOP voters with only choices of voting for the lesser of two evils. As a result, either way nanny-staters, tax hiking, government program driven liberals win. It's just a difference in degrees.
Whatever you say noobcomradeloser....
