Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree, but I appreciate your responses. Didn’t mean to come across as lumping you personally, but answer this, please.

If most republicans are “good conservatives” why are Fred and Hunter now gone? The problem as I see it is that these days, most people who call themselves republicans aren’t very solid on conservatism.

Conversely, those of us who consider ourselves to be solid conservatives aren’t very solid these days with republicans.

There is a lot more to winning a race than to being ‘right’ on the issues. Character, competence, leadership and other factors are judged ... and they are judged via many lenses, such as the MSM lens that might build up one candidate and tear down or ignore another. If Duncan couldn’t stand out in the debates and/or get support behind him some way, and didnt have enough money to get a message out, what do you expect? Fred has less of an excuse, as he had national name ID to match Rudy and McCain, but still blew it, mainly by having a disorganized campaign and having the MSM pretty much diss his whole approach to running. it’s what happens. You can whine or you can realize that goes with the territory and do something about it.

Just think of all the folks voting for McCain due to his military service. I mentioned Duncan Hunter to my wife and she says “Who?”

This primary has been quite the “ClusterHuck”.
