My only comment is, I’m proud to have supported Fred Thompson. I will live with that in my heart. No regrets.

>>I’m old enough to say I voted for Reagan twice and also old enough to say emphatically that the Reagan years seem about one million years ago.<<

Heck, this is the year that kids who were born when Clinton was President start driving. In two years Clinton babies start voting.

It was a million years ago...

You are right. Sorry.

I am just plain mad right now. Both conservatives gone. Now just how did that happen?

Oh, I will work against Hillary/Obama, but that doesn’t mean I have to work to support any one. It will simply be a replay of ‘04 for me.

I just got home.

A giant lump in my throat and tears. :*^(

That’s all I’ve got right now.

God bless you, Fred Thompson. I have been a proud FredHead.

I will continue to pray for your mother and the rest of your family. My other prayer is that we will still see you on the ticket as VP.

I pray that we will see him again as a Governor running for President.

That would put him miles ahead of where he started from this time. At least as a governor he’d have relationships with his counterparts across the nation who could help him set up state organizations, help with fund raising, etc. etc. He tried his best but was not known and couldn’t overcome that obstacle. Even with being known to the extent Thompson was he couldn’t succeed.

If Fred endorses McCain, we will drop big time in the eyes of Conservatives. I hope he has more brains than that.

Huckabee and McCain will be just as bad in dealing with the illegals and I will not vote for them.

Do you have anything against illeagals other than the fact that they are illegally present? Would you be in favor of greatly increasing legal immigration for people who have demonstrated economic accumen and are fluent in english? Would you be interested in decreasing the horrific buearacracy associated with legal immigration? Do you value people who want to become true, prosperous and virtuous Americans?

True conservatives know that McCain is a known sellout and dangerous to our causes on so many fronts. that’s why in the early states, moderates went for mcCain and conservatives went to Romney and Huck.

Proamnesty-antiBushtaxcuts-proCO2caps-CFR-RINO John McCain delenda est!

Romney is a brilliant and accomplished man with a great family who wants to serve as President. Romney is running on a conservative agenda. If Romney wimps out on that conservative agenda like GHWB did with his 1990 tax hikes, he’s a one-termer. Romney has a record of diligently living up to his promises and he will want to serve two terms, so he will work diligently to implement the agenda he is running on.

If you like it, support it:

Amnesty will rise again if he is the nominee. It is still here, but if he is the nominee...it's over.

Between now and November a caller is going to ask Rush would a Shrillary presidency (or Obamalamadingdong presidency) cause irrevocable damage or will it not.

THAT is the issue now.

Letting Dems vote in (R) primaries. Now THAT is logical (and how we keep winding up with RINOs).

AMEN!

Yes, I know, to a large degree that is true. They must work hard for the vote. But right out of the gate, the media followed Rudy and McCain and Mitt around like puppy dogs. Polls started in 2006 - which are certainly ONLY name ID polls at that time. Giving the names Rudy McRomney at the top, splashed across the media.

FR and the entire conservative movement was saying “is this the best we can do”?

In steps Hunter, as perturbed about the choices as we are. And the immediate reaction from Nat. Review, Human Events, Rush Limbaugh, Weekly Standard, etc etc etc is to tell us he has little chance, then proceed to ignore him. If they are conservative publications, why not support the conservative candidate and at least get his name out there as a real option. The only remotely in depth articles about Hunter were in the blogosphere. And when CNN does a better (though still very poor) job of covering Hunter than Fox, the WSJ and National review COMBINED, you know something is amiss.

Instead, silence. Now Fred was drafted due in large part to the silence and the notion we needed a conservative in the race. Fred played it smart to get buzz by not rushing in, but as soon as he stepped foot in the race, the same ‘conservative’ media started burying him. Rush waited til it was obvious the McCain could win this thing before he started pumping up Fred. Too little too late.

Rush, Laura, Levin, etc should have been telling America that “folks, we have two conservatives in the race now” for many months. Instead, they gave this air of being above it all, and lo and behold we are faced with the FACT that we will get Rudy McRomney, just as we had set out to prevent.

My association with the GOP and its media cheerleaders is over.

That still isn't calling anyone a name, now, is it?

As for the entire argumentative style, (not necessarily an opinion), well, that was as gently as I could call it as I see it.

Have a nice day.

Oh come on. Just because everybody isn’t running to jump onto the bandwagon you want them to doesn’t mean they are anti-Mormon or envy somebody else’s successes.

Sheesh, you’re getting overwrought here.

Now just how did that happen?

You might ask Ann Coulter, Fred Barnes, Sean Hannity, National Review....
