BILOXI -- A 27-year-old teacher at Biloxi's alternative school was released on $50,000 bond after being charged with sexual battery of a teenage male student at the school, police said Monday.
The complaint against Rebecca Bogard of Woodland Park Drive, Biloxi, was filed by the student's parent, said Capt. John Miller of the Biloxi Police Department. She was arrested Friday by the Biloxi Police on one charge of sexual battery on a male under the age of 16 and taken to the Harrison County jail.
Judge Albert Fountain set her bail at $50,000, and she was released the same day.
"This is her first year to teach at the alternative school," said Biloxi School Superintendent Paul Tisdale. Bogard is a science teacher at the Center for New Opportunities on Pass Road; she previously taught at one of the district's elementary schools for about three years.
She is a 1998 graduate of Biloxi High School.
Tisdale said he has informed the school board of the charges against Bogard. He will meet with the board attorney and the district's personnel director today to determine what action should be taken.
True, but to hold her responsible for that reason would amount to prior restraint. Just because she could turn stout doesn't mean that she will turn stout. Therefore: Not guilty!

Are these teachers on some kind of secret game show or something we don’t know about?
I mean, it has become so prevalent it’s almost funny. Certainly fodder for a comedy routine. Don’t these people watch or read the news? At some point they should figure out, “yes, you really will get caught.”

The way I see it, teenage girls don’t really want to have sex but acquiesce to win the “heart” of their seducer.
Teenage boys, on the other hand, REALLY want to have sex, with any willing female, of any age or race, and almost any looks.
Not if I have pictures...what happens after the fact is not my problem...plus, I would be forever known as “that guy who banged the teacher”.
