Mark Tucker: "My own view and theirs is that this country has seized its last chance.”

"These people will not surrender power without war."

We're on the same side here but I need to point out that "those people" left the White House and the federal government- without a war- on 1/20/2001.

They left the WH, but they did not surrender power. They left a fully active partisan bureaucracy burrowed in place in every department and agency of government at every level in all branches. The top tier formed a Shadow Government immediately. There has even been diplomatic contacts between this Shadow Government and both our enemies and our allies, as well as those who are simply ad hoc opportunists. All of this has played out more or less in public.

Also, while the various domestic factions fight publicly over who takes credit for what, there are plenty of instances of ideological agreement between the leaders of both *sides*. Look at the united front against Bush waged by some in the State Department and the CIA, even as he stumped for open borders and acquiesced on various environmental issues, for example.

I have mentioned before that I have, in the past, personally known scions of various leading leftist families. I was clued into some of this after 9/11 when a member of one of the leading Soros-linked clans began holding up renegade CIA agent leaks as proof of the *illegality* of our actions in Iraq. I am also hearing recently that third & fourth generation members of these families, people born in the 1970s, are migrating to leadership positions in various ultra-leftwing organizations. These are under-educated partisans with nothing at all to recommend them except their inheritance and family name.It is the Kennedy family model.

No one *gave up power*. It is in their ultimate interests to have it appear that we still have a democratic voting system, even while they fight to get rid of the entire idea of a Republic. There are hints of internal differences on just what aspect of capitalism should hold sway, but it is obvious that centrally controlled economies are preferred. This is a Long War and so far, they have won more than they have lost, IMO, although, to be honest, the people I have known seem to feel they have lost much more than we all think that they have. I believe this simply shows that they feel totally entitled and that any deviation from their own goals is felt deeply as a severe defeat.

As to why 4th generation billionaires want to turn America into some form of communistic dictatorship of the elite, I really cannot fathom the answer. They mouth the usual platitudes of fairness and say they champion the poor and I think they really believe this is true. People who go along with them become wealthy themselves as they operate in ways that ensure that they are perceived as benefactors and they are very sensitive to what we plebes think about them, personally. I have seen this manifested all down the line, from casual dispensing of cash to people belonging to the various protected classes to elaborate *gifting circles* aimed at providing financial aid to various causes/institutions while obscuring the source of the money and recuiting new followers who end up with extra money, and who are then implicated in felonious activity, as well. All of this is aimed at controlling others. I think it would take someone well-versed in the heritablity of personality disorders to explain it adequately.

You and I are not using "those people" in the same sense.

I am not referring solely to the Clintons.
