This was Bush’s perogitive. While I disagree with him on a number of important issues, those should not create an open season on matters that are unreasonable.

This is just bull. This could have been cleared up by now, but the goal wasn’t justice, it’s all about damaging the republican party prior to November.

Bush can let Clinton supporters go from appointed positions whenever he wants.

Clinton fired all of Bush 1’s attorneys.

The dems continue to do what they said they would,, investigate and waste a heckuva lot of money and resources tossing mud and chasing an administration they hold in contempt.

As usual, the dems will overplay the next hand and the next one after that.. here’s hoping voters call their bluff next November.

Investigate, investigate, yadda yadda yadda. That’s what Congress does while the economy and energy problems grow daily. Maybe we need a petition to fire the whole damn Congress.

 Major Hochstetter

“I think it could be historic,” said David Iglesias, former U.S. attorney in New Mexico, who was one of the nine ordered to resign by the Bush administration

And that's precisely what you're hoping for, isn't it David?  Never mind justice and the law and traditional Presidential prerogatives, what matters is lots of Press and creating a black eye for the Bush administration where none should be at all.

Gosh, the Republicans were pee-ohd because left-over Clinton appointees were dragging their feet in investigating Democratic-party voter fraud?

All I have to say is next time Republicans get the White House, clear out the Department of Justice, the State Department, and the IRS. Put our own people in there.

The party doesn’t need any help, it’s damaged it’s self enough.

The US Attorneys listed in this article were appointed by President Bush, not Clinton.

Well, I certainly hope they do overplay it.

I am getting a little tired of the depression and nonsensical criminal investigations the first of very election year, when dems are not in office.

The democrat party chose to back Clinton’s play back in the 1990s. They had to claim all the investigations against a crime family member were unfair. And then they had to trump up charges against the next republican president to make it look like that was all the republicans were up to in the 90s.

Clinton was connected to the mob through his uncle Buddy, who sounded like a mid-level management player in Hot Springs. Then he got connected to the democrats as a young man with the Fulbright foundation. Then people conveniently started dropping like flies all around him.

Bush is a dim bulb, but he is not a criminal (unless you think ignoring Article IV Section IV makes you one). Not being charged with that, he gets a pass from me on criminality, until he is. Then all bets are off.

It’s still payback time. I would hope Bush would begin to understand what a flawed idea it was to take a pass on having his justice department go after Clinton tooth and nail, and protecting Clinton’s presidential papers for a decade or more.

Bush was a chump, and now he’s will have hell to pay despite his trying to play nice.

In a way, it strikes me as fitting as what is happening to Murtha. Bush thought it wise to sell out justice, and now he’ll get his thanks. Only the party will pay, not Bush.

“The sooner it comes out the better,” said fired U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins of Eastern Arkansas, who has communicated with Justice investigators more than half a dozen times during the inquiry. “It’s hanging like a cloud over the department.”

Pretty ironic, eh? One fired Democrat US Attorney resents that he was allegedly asked to speed up an investigation of Democrat fraud in time for an election cycle, another fired Democrat US Attorney wants an investigation sped up so that the (hoped for) bad news will hit the street in time for November '08. Hypocrisy, thy name is Democrat.

.....It is suspected by some that McKay’s firing was tied to the 2004 governor’s election, in which Democrat Christine Gregoire narrowly won with 49 percent of the vote. The administration denies that charge.

McKay testified that the chief of staff to Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) asked whether he was investigating allegations of voter fraud in the 2004 governor’s race. A spokesman for Hastings, ranking member on the ethics committee, declined to comment on whether the congressman or staff have been interviewed about the firings.

Based on facts exposed during the election controversy, many asked for an investigation and local and state officials refused. People demanded that someone look into the allegations, but McKay blew them off.

Especially troubling was the way the military voters seemed to be systematically disenfranchised.

In my opinion he should have been fired for his blowing off people and not even considering the potential for voter fraud. There was a real hunker down and see no evil mentality.

Yeah, the voters will call their bluff, just like they have the 8000000000000 trillion million other times the democrats have done things like this (not).

You over-estimate voters.

Hatred of others is a terrible foundation; it's the foundation of today's democrat party. They're not after just Bush, they're looking for subjects that will feed their greed and need.

I could see the Democrats getting upset over Bush sacking Clinton appointees, but why get their panties in a was over sacking his own appointees? Unless, perhaps, they were getting too close to uncovering Republican corruption?
