Fred Thompson sources say the actor and former Tenn senator may withdraw from the race. There are no plans to attend Thursdays Florida debate.
Staffers have been on partial pay since the NH primary. The Senators plans are very fluid. As of 8:45 this evening, there are no plans for any announcement about whether he will stay in the race or not. The team is wrestling with very few options. The Senator is in Nashville visiting his mother (in her 90s) who has been ill.
From THE FIRST DAY Fox News broke the story last March of his candidacy, Thompson has always had a vice presidential bid in mind. Today a top aide even mentioned the idea on Brian and the Judge on Fox News Radio.

It’s true. McCain Romney Huck and Fred are all about 80% conservatives. Rudy is worse. But they are all a LOT better than the Dems. Why is this so hard for people here to see?
Honestly, if you are trying to help your candidate, you are hurting your cause by attacking Thompson(especially at this time). Your claims of him not being pro-life would make the NRTL and many other pro-life organizations look like fools for endorsing him. I trust their opinion much more than a random poster here listing third party info from a decade before.
Do you think that posting Wayne Dumond and 30-year wedding registry info on every Huckabee thread would make you more likely to support my candidate? All I'm saying is that you should consider your audience and rethink your approach.
Uh huh...

You think Huckabee is conservative. You are a “Huckster”
If you are one to think that Huck is a conservative, well it is a good basis to judge anything else you say.
As far as the Pro life bit, between Dr. Wanda Franz and some guy on FR who thinks Huck is a conservative, well...
BTW Pro life, along with 2nd amend are the only conservative issues I see Huck support over the years, so if you are going on something that narrow, you are correct. I go much wider.
When there are Hucksters and McPains about accuracy suffers. I like discussion, but not in a Clinton style. I’m sorry too about the levels to which some members will sink and about how gullible many of have become because of the good postings and spirited discussion available here.
I’m talking about the source of Carl’s statement. What is his source? Are you dense?
It means, he's not the perfect conservative , but its hard to be fervent about "imperfect", so you have to pretend he is , so that you can paint everyone else as being RINO's. Get it now?
BTW, I think his Federalism argument is an excellent one and he is the best of the bunch, but unfortunately, he never caught on in the places where he said he would. But thats just the way it goes sometimes.
I don’t follow HUCKBEE post.....
have better things to do......
Looks like Carl's sources are reliable.
