Fred Thompson sources say the actor and former Tenn senator may withdraw from the race. There are no plans to attend Thursdays Florida debate.
Staffers have been on partial pay since the NH primary. The Senators plans are very fluid. As of 8:45 this evening, there are no plans for any announcement about whether he will stay in the race or not. The team is wrestling with very few options. The Senator is in Nashville visiting his mother (in her 90s) who has been ill.
From THE FIRST DAY Fox News broke the story last March of his candidacy, Thompson has always had a vice presidential bid in mind. Today a top aide even mentioned the idea on Brian and the Judge on Fox News Radio.

“DrewsDad” wrote: “Why dont you go and try to teach your candidate what the 10th Amendment means.”
Because I believe he already knows.
Response to Fred Thompson on Abortion and the HLA:
“The Tenth Amendment makes explicit the notion that the federal government is limited only to the powers granted in the Constitution. For this reason, Gov. Huckabee believes that a constitutional amendment is necessary to ensure that every human being, from the moment of conception to natural death, is not denied equal protection of the law.”

“DrewsDad” wrote: “That and your assinine posts against Thompson are moving me further away from your candidate.”
My posts against Senator Thompson’s campaign for president aren’t asinine, and if your misunderstanding of the Tenth Amendment moves you away from Governor Huckabee, that isn’t my fault.
“Anybody who quotes Tim Russert is lost.”
The quotation is of Senator Thompson:
When I sawand again, ALL CONSISTENT WITH WHAT IVE SAID [emphasis mine]. Ipeople ask me hypothetically, you know, OK, it goes back to the states. Somebody comes up with a bill, and they say were going to outlaw this, that or the other. And my response was I do not think it is a wise thing to criminalize young girls and perhaps their parents as aiders and abettors or perhaps their family physician... I do not think that you can have a, a, a law that would be effective and that would be the right thing to do ...

“It has, but if you don’t have a horse in shining armor, you can’t ride into the sunset, can you?”
What’s that supposed to mean?
“I will sit the **** thing out ...”
Perhaps that would be best.
“Are you suggesting that Federalism isnt the better way to end abortion ?”
Not in post #2. I was only pointing out that Senator Thompson opposes legal prohibitions on abortion at the state level as well as the federal level.
Are you suggesting that something in post #2 isnt true?
“The poster, Kurt Evans, is just a shill for Hucklebee.”
I’m more than just a shill. I’m his brother in Christ.
“Start with FreeRepublic about 8 months ago and move forward.”
Nothing in post #2 has been refuted at Free Republic.
“ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS BUNCH...”
That seems a little harsh.
“A huckster saying I lied.”
I’m not a huckster.
“Does that rip space time?”
It obviously doesn’t.
“After your ‘National Right to Life’ is harming the Pro Life movement bit, taking you seriously is a stretch...”
Maybe you need to be stretched.
finally admitted who your rooting for.....
he will soon be out of cash and gone....thank goodness. God indeed does answer prayers.
“Youre so cute when youre lying.”
Actually I’m not, and neither are you.
“You could have fooled me.”
Of course I could have.
“Source” as in “who said it” or “where does this knowledge come from,” not “who reported it.” Try again.
“Have you seen the good news on this thread?”
Yes, what little there is.
“finally admitted who your rooting for...”
I’ve been openly campaigning for Governor Huckabee here since November:

Source as in who said it or where does this knowledge come from, not who reported it.
I got the information from the Fox News website, and I sourced it properly.
Try again.

Hey, pissant!! Good to see you!
There has been too much talk of Thompson being a stalking horse lately. But I must admit that I have often wondered what went down between Romney’s people and Thompson’s people during their meeting over dinner in late spring/ early summer of 07.
