He skips and Hunter couldn’t get in on the debates.

I feel like a motherless child. On Friday, I had a candidate I really liked and was excited about, one that Rush Limbaugh reported on his radio show was surging.
Today, I feel empty and lost. I can’t get excited about any of the other candidates, and there are those I fear. I won’t be watching any of the debates, as not one of them has anything worth hearing, and I won’t be following the election or the convention.

A victory for the Big Tent.
And a major loss for all things GOP!
To: DTogo
Yep.
I cried my eyes out when Hunter dropped out.

Sorry, Romney’s a liar.
I would never vote for the man.

Fred’s campaign in penniless and he’s throwing in the towel. Finally, this non-campaign campaign can be laid to rest.
Like Weasly Clark before him, candidates need to learn that you can’t parachute in at the last minute and expect to succeed.

I was thinking the same thing gruna. While driving home I realized that I would eventually have to make this decision.
And ...what do you know? As soon as I turn on FR, there is the very debate in my head in the form of a thread.(no, I am not trying to rhyme or I would have worked Fred in there as well :)
I think that Romney best articulates his change in opinions over the years as he has become more conservative. I realize he may not be perfect but he’s a hell of alot better than the Dem candidates.
I am not going to stomp my foot and take my ball home now that Fred is gone. That is the attitude that brought us 8 years of Clinton in the first place.

Screw the debates. Thompson should bombard radio talk shows and challenge the other candidates in taking questions from the hosts and callers.Fred hasn't begun to slip into insanity like some of his supporters. Fredheads have become a cult.

Fred Thompsons mother has been ill, it might be about her. Don’t count Fred out now.

At this point I’m writing Hunter in.

Saw Hunter on Fox earlier. He all but announced he is throwing his support to McCain. I couldn’t believe it....so disappointing

I still don’t see anything on Carl’s blog saying Fred is not in the debate- but his mother is very ill.

Jim Garaghty at NRO reports that Thompson is still in Tennessee at the hospital with his mother, and he had not made any decision on the campaign front as he tends to her. Staff is being told to plan on business as usual tomorrow.
