I thought Delay left Washington in disgrace and was among the cast of scummy actors whose antics helped cause the Republican party to lose control of the Congress.

DeLay left Washington under a cloud, one brought about by a out of control highly partisan 'Rat prosecutor in Texas. The liberal MSM picked up on it ... DeLay had given the 'Rats a very hard time for several years ... and, with all force possible, pushed him out of office. This, brought about in large measure by the pubbies abandoning him ... which they do with distressing frequency whenever one of their own is the focus of the MSM. As an aside ... the 'Rats circle the wagons whenever one of their brethren comes under fire for some reason ... the pubbies, on the other hand, quickly abandon their people under similar circumstances.
Bottom line ... the prosecutor that brought up the highly suspect accusations against DeLay couldn't make them stick ... but the damage was already done.

There is something shady about Tom Delay. I didn’t appreciate how he threw away his congressional seat in Texas because of his greedy need to be a lobbyist.

I won't "sit it out".

If the conservative Constitution Party is not headed on the ticket by a minor league nutcase nobody heard of, but a solid, nationally recognized conservative who could in fact be President, that is where I would probably end up. No McCAIN. No HILARY. Same difference. THE G.O.P. has been warned.

Most Republicans did; Souter was nominated by GHWB, and presented himself as “not a liberal”; he was an unknown entity.

Ginsburg was nominated by Clinton and at that time the Senate pretty much believed that since he was president, he got to pick his justices.

Of course, “turnabout is fair play” doesn’t fly with the RATs. They’re thugs.

Hillary will govern like Bill.

I don't think so. Bill was a good time rock and roller. To him, being the President and being treated like a rock star was what it was all about. Hillary is a Marxist, Feminist lesbian. She wants to do stuff, like universal health care, more government control, getting rid of weapons, federalization of everything. Bill loves campaigning because he gets a kick out of the adulation; Hillary endures it because she wants the power.

This party has failed to pick a conservative candidate and have relegated themselves to bickering factions instead of a coalition. Formula for a loss.

Yep. All done, but for the wailing and gnashing...

I've got a list of two Pubbies I'll never vote for: McCain and Rick Perry (governor Texas.) Fred was my preferred, but that ain't happening. I can go Romney easily, Huckabee and Giuliani would be tough, but I could hold my nose and do it. McCain, no. Wouldn't be prudent.

In my more tin-foil hat moments, I wonder if Clinton and Bush didn't make a deal in 2000. It's pretty obvious to anyone who pays attention that Broward County was the location where the election was going to be stolen (wait until the ballots are almost all in, start manufacturing votes, but just enough to win) but they stopped 500 votes short. The Clintons kneecap Gore, then do the same to Kerry, and Bush selects a VP that has no ambition of running for President, and leaves the Pubbies without an heir. Clinton and Bush the elder have also become very friendly. Just a nutty thought.

So a lot of Republicans are going to go Palestianian on us and commit suicide because of their irrantional hatred of McCain.

With all due respect, it's not irrational.

There are plenty of perfectly rational reasons for objecting to a McCain candidacy. For example...

a. The First Amendment

b. Illegal immigration

c. Global warming

d. The Fairness Doctrine

e. Tax policy

f. Judicial appointments

g. Temperament

h. Opportunism

Need I go on?

Dawn (seeing the light) comes sooner to some, later to others. Hell, by the time some catch on it is past their bed time.
