I don’t think he really wanted to do this from the beginning. We can’t make him do what he doesn’t have the heart for.

If the Republican nominee isn’t determined well ahead of the Republican convention, the DemocRATS will win by huge margins. Considering Florida is a winner take all state, I think Florida Republicans should consider that if Fred is just a “me too” candidate, he could could split the anti McCain vote enough to let McCain win Florida. I think most Romney and Thompson voters do not want McCain.

Thompson should drop out and give his support to Romney. Thompson can’t/won’t win.

Fred Thompson should not drop out. He should, instead, campaign for an Open Convention, allowing every voter a choice.

Paul voters would be greateful to all fredtards

Rush needs to pee or get off the pot.

Endorse Fred. Maybe that’ll give him a boost.

I really hate to see the last conservative thinking about getting out. I doubt I could bring myself to vote for any of the remaining choices. Definitely not the Huckster...or Romney...or

FRED! PLEASE STAY IN!!!

Some interesting ideas. As a vanity it’s very long. As an article in wanders a bit and doesn’t get to the point quickly enough.

You are calling for Fred to stay in and cause a brokered convention. He might. I think right now all six of them are playing chicken. Once one goes, there could be the start of a wave that moves another. With them all in we could get the brokered convention.

I found the whole “war” section at the end disjointed. With a good editor I bet you could make a snappy 4 or 5 paragraph piece out of this.

I say the process is working better than usual. New Hampshire and Iowa haven’t picked our candidates. Michigan crossover voting Democrats haven’t had too much influence. It appears that there will be no leader until after Super Tuesday, at which point 40% of the nation will have had their say! That’s great!!

It’s likely no leader will emergen until a much greater percentage, like 70% or 80% have voted. Late states could be “the deciders”.

The odd system has worked out O.K.

Fred is free to stay in an try for more delegates in the south. But the facts are if he can’t win in any state he’s probably not going to be the nominee.

BTW: It’s silly to claim all Reagan Republicans are for Fred. Reagan built the coalition, and attracted all sides. The problem with the current bunch is most only appeal to one side of the coaltion.

Fred has other issues that are hurting him. (Some of which he could address, but hasn’t.) I’m sure there are lots of Reagan supporters supporting every single one of the Republican candidates.

I’m not leaving the Republicans they are leaving me!From entitlement spending and pork ,the gang of 14 a..kissing of Teddy Kennedy, the attempt to ram through an amnesty bill through the dead of night that would massively change the country , the always trying to suckup to the press by trying to show “growth” as a leader by getting down on their knees to the Democrats , and now the system where the liberal press and the “cross over” voter decides who gets to lose to Hillary in November! It’s time to say goodbye to “compassionate conservatism” .The current leaders just don’t get it and after hearing Newt try to spin to Rush the global warming B.S and telling us how smart Hillary is has shown me that they want to be inside players in the beltway not representing our interest but we need them to get things done so keep sending in money to the RNC.But don’t organize at the grassroots level without D.C. sanction because Mr.McCain will demand that you go to jail! After all can’t have free speech during an election! To quote Kang “only a fool fights in a burning house!”

I am for this as well, and Duncan Hunter should also get behind it, even with one regular and one alternate delegate from Wyoming, give them a bullhorn, too, to make a big noise there in Minneapolis.

Humphrey was not appointed Vice President under the 25th Amendment. The office was vacant from Nov 22, 1963 until Jan 20, 1965. Humphrey was elected into the position.

Can Fred seriously win the nomination at the convention with 8 delegates?

A lesson for those who think they can waltz into a contest months after it started and be coronated.
