I thought the regulation prevented the homeowner from deviating more than +/- 4 degrees from a temperature the state preferred during a "crisis."

Orwellian ping
I swear we are giving everything up in the name of a climatological scam, and of security.

Austin, TX has had a similar program for years. The City has control to cut your power during peak times ... to forestall a blackout. The cycle of you electric for 3-4 minutes during peak times. They will even give you the wall thermostat free of charge.

Makes sense to me. Government regulation caused the problem, so government regulation will solve the problem.

"Liberals are always talking about a right to privacy. It seems to me that if there is really, truly a right to privacy, the right to decide how you want to heat or cool your home would fall under it," says the journalist.Stupid journalist. That whole "right to privacy" thing only relates to abortion. Everything else is fair game.

This is a ridiculous proposal, I read about it some weeks ago.

Next:
1) Gov't-controlled flushing toilets in your loo.
2) Electronic toilet-paper dispensers that allow only 1 square per sitting (or two, after depositing a quarter in the slot).

This is how they do it.
Note - they already call the global warming hoax a “crisis”. Once they get this law, it’s over.
Do you think there will be exemptions for the elderly? Leftists will never stop. They never have enough. They want complete control of all aspects of life.

They will be regulating the type of signal used by our T.V.’s as of February 2009, then they regulate our light bulbs and now there is talk to regulate our thermostats on the federal level. How much more do we allow socialist politicians to invade our homes?

Supposedly, the state legislature knocked this proposal down. I believe it’s dead. But, if you live in Sacramento County, you have to call in and see if it’s OK to use your woodstove.
