I left my previous job for career advancement. I never would have left my old job if I didn’t get hired at the new job. To do so would have been irresponsible at every level.

Do you think the Molly Maguires were wrong for stopping work, too? Or was it irresponsible of them not to send their twelve-year old and sometimes eight-year old sons to work in the mines? How *convenient* it is to draw the boundaries of another man's responsibilty!

It allows you to be so easily judgemental, eh?

Get those workers back in the mines!

It has always bothered me to see those pictures of kids sent into the mines. How could families allow that to happen?

But sure know, if the father and the father's father took such great pride in working in overly dangerous conditions, why then would it not come to, and so it did, that eventually the family would be proud of sending a child int those same conditions.
