espn is an obnoxious conglomeration of windbags, in any event.
From the article:
ESPN anchor Dana Jacobson made an absolute fool of herself, swilling vodka from a Belvedere bottle, mumbling along and cursing like a sailor as Mike & Mike rested their heads in their hands in embarrassment. [Comedian Eddie] Griffin came to the podium to defend her after she was booed by the crowd. [Host Jeffrey] Ross eventually had to pull her off stage, too.
For those unfamiliar with Jacobson, she was a “SportsCenter” anchor for ESPN in 2005, and later made a co-host of that network’s morning show “Cold Pizza” which is now “ESPN First Take.”
So, what did she actually say? According to the website Deadspin:
f... Notre dame”
“f....touchdown Jesus”
and - the step-aside-because-lightning-is-about-to-strike... “f.... Jesus.”
MTV for jocks.
“Do the Christian thing and forgive them all.”
Sure I forgive her, she “knows not what she does”. But that does’nt mean she shouldn’t lose her job.
While I can understand someone (she is a Michigan grad) razzing Bob Golic, a Notre Dame alum, about Notre Dame by using an expletive, and can see how Touchdown Jesus might get tossed into the same salad. But, if she uttered the last one, it crosses a line that no one should get to cross.
Apparently, she was drunk and there is actually footage that ESPN has elected not to release. So, where will Disney/ABC/ESPN go with this? Probably no where. No apoligies, no groveling to keep Catholics calm, nothing thus far. Anyone surprised by that? What if she had said f*ck touchdown Allah?.....Stay tuned
Did she say anything about Fair Catch Moses?
Why is there still no video on this?
Well, this anchor showed her foul mouth, potty mouth, lack of class, intelligence and common sense not to mention how she showed her Ass to everyone by being her REAL SELF. In the meantime...the simple Carpenter lives on. This anchor needed validation and tried to get it through her filthy mouth and tryin’ to be “one of the guys.” When WILL women learn they are NOT THE GUYS. She’s nothing. She will fade into nothingness! Dismiss her for what she is...a pure simpleton. Meanwhile ...the simple Carpenter lives on in all of us.
Until the Christians stand up ... really stand up and DEMAND apologies and firings like everyone else has over other things...it will not stop. The people have to do it themselvs and stay on it and keep it out there in the spotlight. Otherwise...they trample over everyone because evidently they know no one will challenge the remarks. Simple as that.
Are you SURE that’s a woman?
Uh....now wait just a second....its either First and Ten Moses or Number One Moses......there is a statue on campus of Fr. William Corby (the Irish chaplain at Gettysburg) who is clearly Fair Catch Corby http://www.irish-society.org/Hedgemaster%20Archives/William_Corby.htm
Perhaps the people at ESPN don't know about it, you can change that.
Intersting in that ESPN has been promoting the Mike and Mike Atlantic City roast and availability of a REPLAY of it for weeks. I wonder if their podcast (or other?) REPLAY of this event will include Jacobson’s embarressing and event- destroying remarks.
I wonder did Mike and Mike have anything to say about it on their show? They generally are pretty above board themselves and could not have been very pleased.
I found this to be more about hating Notre Dame.
Why, because she's untouchable. Not because she's female, just take a good look at her name. Any punitive action taken and she screams antisemitism and files a law suit.
Christians need an equivalent to the ADL. Then this anti Christian bigotry would stop pdq. Now there's only the Catholic League (led by Bill Donohue) to go against these low lifes.
Hopefully someone will send this to him. He's the only one with the guts to fight this kind of 'stuff'.

Clearly Dana's comments were more about hating Notre Dame than about Jesus. The issue is when do you get to say what? If this were said about Allah or Jews, what would have been tolerated. There is a brief clip out there on the net about the roast, but not Jacobsen's comments. ESPN won't release them. However, she was escorted off the stage, that much we do know.
ESPN fired Rush Limbaugh for less offensive remarks!
