My immigration reform group has been in contact with the Romney campaign. He will not sign on to any form of amnesty. McCain will. McCain now talks about securing the border first, but he has not recanted his position of making the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens already here legal, except for the 2 million criminal illegal aliens, who he will round up "immediately."

"Of the remaining viable candidates--McCain, Giuliani, Huckabee, and Romney--the only real conservative left is Romney. As a former Thompson supporter, Romney is the only real choice left for those of us who consider ourselves conservatives."

PING for Truth.

“I don’t believe in amnesty,” Romney said, using a word voiced by Republicans to describe widespread forgiveness of illegal residency in the United States.

But at the same time, Romney said illegal immigrants should have a chance to obtain citizenship.
